AGA Tools Clean Oil Evacuator

I thoroughly love working on my car to include doing my own oil changes. Other vehicles I have owned I was able to use Fumoto valves for quick clean drain of the oil but these sloops of war just right too low in the water to use them and as a result have had my share of messes.

I've bought and used a few other AGA Tools over the years and they have always impressed. Great phone and email support and quality products so when this popped in my inbox today I didn't waste any time clicking the link.

I have not bought or used this yet but with a oil cooler mod coming up in August the drain plug will absolutely be going and will follow up with one for my 550 and 335. I won't get to test the evacuator until the follow up oil change 3000 miles later but I may shorten the duration just to get the joy before my next deployment.

That looks quite decent to be honest!

It’s a shame though that the oil filter on the s63 engine is such a terrible design and there is no way to change it without serious mess! I did however fit a Weistec filter lid on the last change so at least the next change can hopefully be done without as much mess!

Yeah, I have the weistec filter as well and curious if AGA will have a cap that could be fitted to it.

I've always questioned vacuuming oil as I think the flushing effect from removing the drain plug will release contaminates more efficiently.

Yeah same, I don't think all of the mess from the bottom of the pan will get picked up. Unless the oil is still hot and it hasn't settled

I usually drain after warming up.

Honestly, I don't see the value of this product. We have to go underneath the car for the oil filter anyway. And if you're already down there, what's an extra bolt to remove.

To each his own. We change at 3k on all 3 cars and event with the best prep it still gets messy and the catch pan gets oil and dirty and is another cleanup step. I am all in.

I can see the benefit in it because there will be no mess or potential for mess, but as others have said you've got to deal with the oil filter anyway. I also think it will do a much better job than other vacuum oil pumps that suck through a traditional dipstick tube as this is using the sump plug. However, for me I won't be rushing out to buy one personally.

The Weistec cap uses an E46 M3 M12 (and probably a million other models) sump plug for the drain.

I haven't used the dipstick evac systems as I didn't feel like it would do a good job. Plus there is not getting out of getting under the car due to the filter placement but we have Renn Stands so getting the car up isn't much of a chore.

I'll be starting with the drain plugs in August and then in January I'll add the evacuator so I don't have to come out of pocket too steeply. Granted it doesn't make my changes cheaper but it makes them quicker and cleaner. With 4 vehicles in all, one with a Futomo valve, it is a cost I am willing to make.

Appreciate the info on the weistec filter plug.
