I'm In RI and in the same boat as you. Why get an M5 going in to winter? (won't be a problem if we have another winter like this past one) I'll be aiming for a ED in early May and redelivery in early to mid June 2013

Are ceramic controls an option on the M5?

Your dealer has to order upholstery code Z1XX.
In addition to this he has to send an email to the ordering manager at BMW Canada which says:
Order Number: XXXXXXX
Z1XX: BMW Individual full leather trim Cohiba Brown.

Contents in leather 'Walknappa' black:
- Instrument panel top section (option code 4M5)
- Door upper-arm trim panels and door trim, bottom
The code for Individual EXTENDED Merino Leather Cohiba Brown interior is ZAWT. So you're saying if the dealer orders as Z1WT, the result will be an Individual FULL Merino Leather Cohiba Brown interior?

I wonder how much of a surcharge there will be (beyond the normal $5K for Individual EXTENDED Merino Leather)?

When ordering something such as Z1WT Individual FULL Merino Leather in Cohiba Brown, will it be necessary to further request 4M5 for the LEATHER Instrument panel top section, or will Z1WT AUTOMATICALLY result in getting the leather upper dash? Similarly, is a SEPARATE alphanumeric code required to ensure the order will also contain LEATHER Door upper-arm trim panels and door trim, bottom?

So when is the first anticipated US delivery? If ordering opens next week I'd assume they'll get here in July. Will they be 2012 or 2013 models?

US model production doesnt start until July. Deliveries will then be late August-September earliest.

I am here in Allen, TX. Wait before you order. I would try the two forum dealer guys or if not the best price I got for my M3 was from BMW of Tulsa.

Pm me if you want more info. My next order will probably be with Ryan Amico.

-No more slot for the key. Just keep it in your pocket and press start. I don't have keyless go, so it doesn't work on the doors. Free of charge standard feature. It was explained to me as a safety feature. The key in the ignition would always end up in someones knee/leg during a collission.
Yep, that's right. No key slots for any F10 5 series including M5.

That's a matte aluminum window trim (as opposed to gloss black trim that's standard).

Shadowline is the way to go imo, unless you go with a black.

Well I am stuck between frozen gray and frozen black at the moment and was wondering if the matte aluminum would look better with the frozen color. Especially if frozen black would look better next to matte aluminum rather than the glossy black.

If anyone knows a Los Angeles area M expert (especially ordering the Frozen paints) they can recommend I would need it. Cash in hand. Ready to go here. Can't find anyone I like locally to deal with it yet. Need recommendations.

US Tax. If the car doesn't meet 22.5 MPG, the IRS levies a tax.

This is what I got back yesterday:

"I will add this to your file, but I checked with the sales director and we cannot put the specs in until we get closer to your place in the allocation queue, which may be several months. He will advise as soon as we can move forward to the next step. Thanks!"

Several months before I can even order the damn car? Uh....I'll be over it in a few months if I have to wait that long before I can even order it. Is your sales person with Classic also?

That's wrong. 2013 M5 order bank will open soon - sometime around the first week of May (this is per BMWNA from just a couple of days ago).

Edit: sorry, just realized you mean that you are somewhere down lower on the deposit list so the dealer thinks it may be months before filling your slot in the list. In any case, dealers will know their allocations when the order bank opens soon.
