But you were the one who posted in a thread that was dormant for nearly 6 months telling us how some other car was more impressive than the OP's M5 because it had a 1.6x and a 106mph trap speed. You like to instigate and then cry about our superiority complex when you are dismissed as being a troll...which is exactly what you did by your original post and subsequent ones (you post your slips on dragtimes and claim to have seen mine...and could easily browse and see a couple of others posted on there...but originally you claimed to only have seen 1 sub 12 second run by an M5). So have you made yourself feel better because you spent less money, for a slower car? Last edited by Tom C; 09-13-2013 at 01:34 AM.. |

"AR Design catless downpipes; SS full exhaust; Noelle moded ECU + turbos (ca. 540 PS)" They are pretty much even until 170km/h when the video stops. I have a feeling that as the speeds increased the 550 would be falling behind. According to the Noelle website they charge 7,900 Euro (about $10K USD)for the upgraded turbos, ECU tune and sport cats. The full SS exhaust must cost around another $4-5K. So $15K+ in mods + labor + the price of a 550 xdrive gets you pretty much to the price of an M5 with similar options but without certain cosmetics (i.e. rear valence, trims etc), suspension, brakes and warranty. But hey if you absolutely need AWD and 4 doors it is a pretty good deal. |

Well the weather should be very favorable this weekend and it would be interesting to see an M5 run on the same day in the same conditions. I think 119mph might be a bit optimistic but then again you might get there if you can run high boost on race gas in perfect conditions. |

I have both cars 550i Dinan stage 2 and M5 LCI and I can say that 550i is really fast too and I am not surprised that it can be as fast with a tune! Last time I drove it to BMW for an inspection for a possible buyer I was really surprised how fast it is even compared to M5!! And has its own way of handling like a luxury refined car and now I understand BMW engineers why they made it this way!! because it will appeal to a lot more people for sure because most people are not enthusiasts like us!! For me M5 is not about speed or even status like some people think though I do care about these but what comes first is being and feeling ONE with the car!! Not sure how to express it but I never felt one with 550i always disconnected from the car but M5 is all about connectedness if that makes any sense and mostly won't unless you are an M5 owner or M3 or even M5 owner!! Not even test drive gets you there because it is like a relationship that gets better with time!! They are in 2 completely different categories and I will be surprised that they will appeal to same person!! My 2 cents |

I recently got a 650 gran coupe for a 1000 mile road trip and as much as I loved the car and the engine there was a lot of things missing. The "it" factor was definitely not present.
Because of that road trip I am now looking at m6 gran coupe. |

Awesome! What did you have your JB4 set at? What was your 60 foot time? I am going to run my JB next Friday hopefully.

What's with this 1/4 mile madness around here? Seriously. Do you guys realize how funny you all look? It's like this is the only thing this car is good at. Is it? Of course not! You should be enjoying it's endless features.
