Seeing what AMS has recently done with the W212 E63, the main competitor to the F10, I can't wait to see what they're going to do with the M5. For those who don't know, they made 787whp with just a tune and upgrades turbos.....stock dp's, stock inlets, and stock exhaust. Can't wait to see what kind of power is going to be squeezed out of both these platforms.....job well done AMS!

^ Wow that's really impressive with the Benz.
Nate, can you comment on how hard it is to get to components for regular maintenance? I know these cars are obviously brand new, but I'd like to get an idea how they are to live with after their warranty run out. One of the main selling points for the E9x M3 for me is that they are quite DIY friendly. Would love to know about the F10 M5 as well.

Been a month, bump for an update? I cant wait to see if ESS can come through on the tuning as it seems as if these bmw dme's are impossible to tune. Bunch of years since the N54 and S65 came out they still dont have full control. The hardware is the easy part imo.

You're correct the hardware is "easy". A project of this scale may take up to a year.
Hopefully the tuning isn't the holdup. Last edited by bmwMcrzy; 03-21-2013 at 01:57 PM.. |

Excellent! Glad to see the progress. Any update on the ESS software solutions for CEL worries and the elimination of the 155 mph speed limit? Will ceramic coating be available for the downpipes? Colors?

Some sexy looking pipes there. I'm sure that with a tune those will yield some pretty serious results!

DP's
I think we are finally starting to see some competition as well as some innovation for the twin-turbo V8. Top quality work Nate.

Will there be a 1/4 mile run after the tuning program is completed? It's interesting to see dragtimes, it really shows the power the car delivers

Our turbos will be here in another 3-4 weeks, at which point the car will spend some time with ESS in Arizona.
For now, here's a preview photo of our production version AMS downpipes:

You guys think it will be possible to use your upgraded turbos and software on the X5M/X6M's?
