Mud Flaps

I am going to buy front and rear mud flaps for Autumn/Winter as I am sick of the car getting trashed.

We live in the country so I don't even get to the end of the lane before the car is splattered with mud and cow shit.

Having a black car they wont show up as much but still don't look great, either way it will stop a lot of dirt and chips

The standard 5 series mudflaps will fit

Has anyone fitted them? How much difference do they make?

There are versions from the Far East that are identical from what I can see (not that I've got them) they are about a third of the price for what Bm ones are though think you'd have to purchase the locking plugs separately.

The dealer will advise they do not fit but they do.
I had them on the 535 fitted no bother at all assume M5 will be the same

Bargain. I never thought of installing during autumn and winter only. I too am sick of the stone chips appearing, especially on the lower wings, lower doors and sills.

What condition is yours in? I thought I was just unlucky.

Did the holes on your BMW ones match the rivets on the wing or did you need to drill new ones in the flaps

I have very small chips that you can't see unless you really look but the sill does take a hammering as does part of the door

Absolutely they match. All 5 series F10 flaps will fit.
*Look on my pic on 'Random shot of day' for the front flap fit
and turn the wheel on full lock for ease of fit.

Might be an idea to fit some clear vinyl to the wing where the flap sits. Any dirt that gets under the edge will scratch the life out of the paint.

Hey looking good, mine are slightly different I think sitting lower being for the standard 5 series which sit a mite lower overall but still a perfect glove fit. You'll be glad you have them where you live in the country there with the mud and dung on the roads you have already mentioned and as you say it's not worth taking them off.
