Sports Display not working!
Has anyone been able to make the sports display operational via coding? That goes for the non 2015 models as it is standard in 2015. If so please share how you have achieved it.
Thanx |

My car doesn't have the sport dials either, it was delivered "new" on the 1st march 2015, I found it was odd that the car didn't have them so I checked the build date on the VIN decoder April 2014!
It was a stock car and had obviously been hanging around for some time, I'm going to get the dealership to update all the software this Friday to 2015 spec rather than the 2014 I suspect I have. |

I had my dealership do all the software updates couple of weeks ago but it didn't affect the sports display aspect of the car. Thx |

They have just confirmed that they will do a full firmware/software update but it remains to be seen what that will give me other than new nav maps and updated telephone/media.
Will keep you posted. |

A software update may update the telephone/media software but it won't update the maps. NBT 2015-2 is the latest available for NA and Europe NEXT.

Just FYI, I've got the latest full software and the guages are still not functional. Either there's a control module it depends on or another setting not in the NBT module.

But I suspect as per my post that's all I'll get and that there will be other updates specific to the car and that's where I'll be in their hands as I haven't got a clue what they are. I will also ask specifically about the sports dials. Hope that makes sense! Last edited by Wills2; 03-10-2015 at 04:46 PM.. |

OK well it went in for the running in service today, but they told me they need the car for longer to perform the firmware update, I mentioned the sports dials but all I got was we'll plug it in and give you everything we can.
So I'll update next Friday, but I'm not holding my breath. What I could do with is the latest firmware code, all we seem to have is the software codes for nav/media etc... |

My m5 is 05/2014 built had my car updated to 2.55.0 ista/p and it did nothing but make my coding abilities more challenging. Since all cafd files are trimmed now. Sport guages don't work and my BMW dealer said there's no way around it. Unless you have a 2015 you are sol. I have also reviewed coding options and I can't find anything labeled for sport gauges other then in NBT module to display them. If someone has a 2015 M5 with them working and can send me a copy of there .ncd file from each module I can do a compare and see if I can find some thing that way?

Had the update done today, they cannot get the sports dials working and worse than that my ipod will now not connect via Bluetooth at all (it worked perfectly before with artwork the lot) + I've lost all my online entertainment songs and registration details.
They have sent a PUMA (an email I think) to BMW asking how they can do the upgrade on the sports dials but I'm not holding my breath. The only plus point is the nav is slightly better and they sorted the cabin rattles I had out. Not sure it was worth to be honest........actually it wasn't! |
