Disappearing Coolant

Sorry if this is a repost, found similar thread but wondering if this is a common problem. My 2013 m5 has developed a new thirst for coolant, not for the tank with the level measure in it, but for the tank by the driver’s side (I believe this is the turbo cooling system). Has anybody else had this happen? Haven’t seen any puddles on the garage floor, no obvious leaks when I pop the hood. just seems like after a spirited drive the level drops about an inch in the tube.

Driver side is engine and turbos etc cooling tank and right side is dme and intercoolers tank. Pressure test. This is 100% sure test and if there is leak will find it this way.

found my answer on youtube.

Dealer confirmed. Glad the damage didn't extend to the turbos, though bummed about losing the car for the week and the $1600 repair bill.

$1,600!? What the hell are they doing for that much? The "kit" to replace all the hoses and clamps costs under $60. Adding the heat protection if not done previously maybe be another $60. It's maybe 1 hour work to replace all four hoses and that's being generous. Top up your coolant and you're all set. This is a DIY, but if you're not comfortable doing it, a competent shop should do it for less than $400 IMO. Just assume they charge $150 for parts and coolant (already a rip off) plus $100 per hour for 2 hours labor plus taxes and you're still under $400.

Also, just thinking out loud, if you don't have the heat protection on the hoses, the work is probably covered under a recall. You might check into that.

They told me out of warranty so won't cover. Any way you can send me a part number with pricing on the "kit" so I can argue with some evidence? I'd love to not get so badly screwed on this.

It's disturbing also to have a/freeze mix dripping down onto engine block from a spent pipe.

There are other threads here with all the info. I Googled "F10 M5 turbo coolant hose kit" for you. Here is one of the hits: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...hoC7WIQAvD_BwE

Good luck. Let us know what BS story they give you trying to justify their pricing.
