It's a great looking silver. But that price is ridiculous. |

Both colors look great! I always loved SS.
For the PMS, I feel like you are paying more for the labor, not the color. I can tell it is more of chrome watery metallic silver, very nice. |

Not assuming, but most BMW's are in fact leased. I'd love to see it live and in person. |

I saw an M5 in Irvine last week that had a unique silver color. I'm fairly confident it was sealionbeast car, unless there are two M5 with PMS in Orange County.

10k is a bunch for special paint on a 100k car. That said, I doubt that is possible to really see what it looks like except in person.

Putting my Accountant hat on, there's no justification for the $10K premium ... The SS looks so good u do not need to go beyond that. Besides, I would bet if you see the PMS by itself, you won't know

The only problem is if the car is ever involved in an accident , or even a bit of road debris you have to repaint the whole damn thing lol .

After seeing this video, I can see why this colour is so special. It's also probably MUCH better in person than in the informal pictures posted here.

Looks great but need to clear bra entire car then take the pics to get the real look. If I paid $10k for paint it would have clear bra for sure, another $2k, on the whole car.
Kidding to some degree but not really. Straight up though PMS is sweet. Would love to see on an M4 with full black leather in person. |

I wish BMW would have went with TiAg as the base coat. I don't care for glacier silver at all.
... But PMS looks stunning in the flesh. I would love to see a pure space grey. |

I personally dont see that its worth $10000 for that special individual color but if i had money like OP I would not mind spending that much for something i like We are all bitching because we cant do it, not really that we wouldnt

Guys, seriously????!!! $10,000 for a paint???
Comeon...where is the world leading to? And then everybody applauds??? I get it that it may look a bit nicer...but I think we're getting sucked in the merchant's gizmoes selling us whatever they want and we stare with Homer Simpson's wide open mouth... Have we even thought about how costly maintaining this type of made up luxury is ...i. e. touch up paint? The other silver is AS good if not better and it doesn't justify the difference ... and that goes with a lot of other things manufacturers try to enforce... I can understand some things, but this one is extremely ridiculous ... BMW should put more effort in after sales service IMO to deal with retention. |

Hey Greer! Thanks for taking the time to post this. Pure Metal Silver is clearly an amazing color and the process a work of art, all judgements about "worth" (a decidedly personal choice) aside.
You SS looks great as well. I still can't let go of my E39 M5 but am looking for a car to split the daily driver duties with it. I'm interested in your impression of the F10 given your long history with the E39. I'm leaning towards the F80 or upcoming M2...PM me!
