Meant to say, Llarry, love that one by Ritchie Valens. What a talent he was. Died so young. Such a loss. Think of all the wonderful songs we would've got from him, and of course, as you said, the great Buddy Holly as well, along with the Big Bopper (Hello Baby!). "The day the music died."

^ I had the 45 rpm record "Angel Baby" when I was a teenager (about 1970). We called it an oldie back then.
Did you know Rosie Hamlin, the singer for Rosie and the Originals, was only 15 when that song came out in 1960? She wrote it as a poem for her boyfriend when she was 14. |

I very much enjoy visiting this thread frequently to listen to a wide variety of great music. Esteban and I have dominated the thread, but diversity is good -- anybody who hasn't contributed is more than welcome to so with any kind of music from any era.

Bringing this thread back up to see if anyone else would like to contribute!
Here's a probably unanswerable question: How many good songs are there?

Top of the line songs in this thread Llarry.
As John used to say to the lads ~ "Where we going fellas?" "To the toppermost of the poppermost, Johnny!" ~ was the reply. |
