Hey all just got my MCB 2013 yesterday and I must admit it is simply awesome. Now of course I want to modify many of those things you also had modified including HBA (I don't have it on stalk). I am actually pretty good with computers and say rooting my phone etc so think I can do this just need to know where to start. Is there a primer thread? I assume I need some piece of hardware to interface the ODB port from USB? Some software? I assume you then modify some hex and flash it back? Anything links would be awesome. Thanks so much and glad to be on here!

Got the files and made my cable and finally got a chance to mess with it today. Thanks so much to everyone on here it is awesome! I installed Win 7 on my MBA in bootcamp and used the thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter and it worked perfect. No more annoying legal noticed, no more seatbelt warnings, the key fob does what I want, DVDs for the kids while moving, and on and on. It is not that hard just give it a go, glad I did! Thanks shawn and all the others.

I've been using this feature in NorthGeorgia for the past 2 weeks. I have to say - I don't miss the stalk. At night the auto high beam is switching on with the automatic headlights. It is a very seamless operation. I love it.

Of course when I go back toMiami a week from now, this feature will be unused for the rest of the year!

Elaborate further? How did you turn it off with the stalk? Did you retrofit it?

Check in iDrive -> Settings -> Lighting for the High Beam Assistant checkbox. Also, you need to cycle the lights for it to turn on. Make sure you've tried that.

http://www.codecard.lt/electronics/t.../prod_651.html
or
http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=20

seem to be common and reliable sources
I got mine from Codecard and it works fine

I'm very happy now!!
I'm trying to code that feature now. How do you know when HBA is activated i.e. does it have an icon in the display (that's what my X5 has) or do you just see it working?

Once you have HBA activated you'll see a "A" inside the headlight icon in your cluster
See below

No. I've never had an issue on any of my cars - BMW or otherwise.

As others have said , never had any problems/issues either (if you need a recommendation for a "mod" friendly dealer in NE/NH let me know)

All this is ON the UK M5's.
No coding required.
