The front looks awesome. The back looks tame, maybe if the diffusor was black or CF it will make a big difference. The side profile looks plain boring to me.

I think that AUDI does the very good job on marketing so that there is always a feeling for me that BMW can get better or they should be better. I don't know if you guys have seen the ADUI'S TV ads for the A6;personally, I feel the ads is so elegant and very fascinate, and ads for bmw aren't as creative as AUDI's recently. What do you guys think ? Or i just thought too much about it ? or I am already convinced by AUDI, even though I am getting my new x3 in the end of the April. or maybe BMW should be more aggressive or creative on the look of the car ? |

There is not much they can do. This is the way they have chosen to build their motors. So exhaust note will suffer. Like I said I have heard full aftermarket exhaust on a X6M, it is nothing to write home about. The new M5 will not come close to E60 M5 exhaust note obviously. But it won't even touch the S65 exhaust note in the E9x M3.

There were a few details I didn't like, but after checking this thread throughout the day, it has really grown on me. I'm sure they'll change the wing mirrors for the production model as the e60 m5 concept had the same wing mirrors as the normal e60 which were later changed. I for one, like the black wheels.

there is perfect correlation between the headlamps and the front bumper, the front end in general looks aggressive as it should be. i think the rear end will grow on me with time. iam not sure about the side grills though!

I am in so much love.
But not sure why no air bent on the hood. It would look so much better with hood like M3 or maybe more aggressive looking

But 0-62 in 4.5 seconds, per the article, is underwhelming as far as I'm concerned. Of course we know BMW tends to understate its performance figures, particularly with its turbo'ed engines... but nonetheless, BMW could have brought these figures in a few tenths lower. For now I'm underwhelmed, but I'll reserve final judgment pending real world results. The 560 hp is also mildly underhwelming, but 510 lb-ft of torque has a lot of promise. This car will be an entirely different creature to drive compared to the previous M5 methinks. Eager to test drive this thing. - esquire

Ok, what is the purpose of this car when 550xi does 0-100 km/h in 4,8 sec???
![]() So basically you get 0,3 sec for extra 150hp??? And the price will be significantly higher for M5! |

550i Is not an M Car. 550i whether tuned is still not an M car.
550i Can not disguise it's intentions and then by pressing a button on the wheel totally transform the car. BMW M make sure that the car is noticeably different when you drive it. It is after all an M.

Agree, south. They are simply hedging bets. I think the Getrag part is probably true, but I am not convinced about the engine output.
