Start doing part number cross references to see which 5-series would be a more compatible shell. I did something very similar about 12 years ago with a e39 M5. And the E39 540i has alot of the same parts as opposed to the 528/525/530. Good luck

Now! If he could morphed the M5 engine into a 550xi,...throw in some Dinan suspension parts,....mount the rear subframe directly to the car,....keep the X-Drive!,...many would be asking him for the Blueprint!

Xdrive system won't work with M5 ECU it needs complete remap, and no one can do it, so basically there is no way to make both work unless if someone will make for you custom ecu to make computers communicate with each other.
currently i am building myself 2013 M3 but no modifiacations i am going to make 100% oem. |

Im going to finish it, but, its a hobby, so its going to take a while. I plan to finish it at last for september. First Cold start
Hello, im coming now with news.
After downloading and installing rheingold Ista D (220GB) & and ENET cable, i read all my faults, 66, and check one for one for big problems. For the engine faults, 3 worried me, alternator, start engine, and valvetronic error one side. I clean all the engine, because when the car stay upside down, the oil fill up the inteake beacuse the air filters and the air duct position. After that, i proceed to remove the BST cable (Batery Safty Terminal), it pop up when the roll up happened. U just need to cut the downside of the plastic, and put a piece of metal inside the another again. And its working. Dont need to delete any error with the computer. Its solves Start engine and alternator at same time. Then i found my valvetronic conector rip off, but imposible to reconect till i take out the engine. So i proceed to start the engine: The white smoke was because of the oil in the turbo that i couldnt clean. After the start i turn it off to open the garage doors for the smoke. When i was going to start it again, i saw the oil hose for the intercooler dumping oil... I read that oil intercooler open at 90 degrees, but not! After 2 hours of cleaning oil... no more work for today. Im going to asembly the intercooler, change the oil of ther car. And start it again. Hope to come with news soon! Bye! |
