Damn Dealership!!!

Hey guys need some info. My 2013 M5 has a tune, it also had a bunch of custom programming(trunk open and close from remote, no ding when seat belt is off, song list on HUD, etc. . .)

Anyway I got it back from service today and all the custom programming had reset. Not sure what the hell they did, I should know by tomorrow. The reprogramming should be easy but is there anyway what they did would have reset the tune? Thats what I'm tripping balls about.

Probabably not. You might just have to re-install the tune.

Good thing I'm not running a tune, but I am coded though. Next time I take it in, I'll ask them not to update the computers if possible.

Last time i went in for service my m-buttons were all reprogrammed for some reason,

I'm assuming it was because they ran a software update. as for your DME, I'm guessing it hasn't been reset.

There's only one way to know for sure; run it on the butt-dyno

Most likely your software was out of date. Dealers receive software updates all the time, if a car comes in most of the time part of the procedure is to update your software.

Dealers are not aware that you have tunes, etc.. they are just following procedure and servicing your car which means making sure that everything is up to date and running smoothly

I wonder what changes have been made with the new software? Have you noticed anything new?

Only drove home from the dealership. I havn't stomped on it yet to notice if there was any difference in performance. The give away was when I took off my seatbelt and it started beeping, then realized none of the other crap I had coded was working. . .

I'm assuming there must have been an important SW update for these cars. I took my car in for a windshield last month and they also the flashed the software without telling me. Have been meaning to recode it but have been too busy.

Glad this came up as I am due for service in a month or so and have been talking to V12 about coding. I had resorted to buying a cheap windows laptop this weekend to do the coding and then return it. May be best to wait I guess. I don't want to buy another one and return it again to recode in a month after service.

Just keep the laptop. I'm sure you can afford it.

I'm a mac guy too but I bought a Samsung Ultrabook just for coding my car. It's convenient.

Now I'm really curious about the changes. At first I thought it was only for the 2013s but if I not mistaken stealth has a 2014?

Yeah the tune was definitely wiped out. Car still halls as but isn't as responsive as it was. Just talked to the peeps that did my coding tune and they said to just bring it back in. On an unrelated note I had spoken to Dinan and there about 45-60 days from their m% software which is supposed to pump out about 680HP!!!
