The Americans rate their fuel differently from us in the uk/ europe.
Their 91 is our standard 95
Their 93 is our premium 98-99

Gets confusing when using boost additives or race fuel, and then theres the whole ethanol thing to confuse it more.

Oh and I will have your downpipes when you sell them Mine is 2015 so don't think it will have wastegate rattle being electronic control
you'll still get waste Gate rattle, mines on a 15 plate. nothing you can do really apart from go high flow cats

Looks like this is going to be another great build! My motor went recently as well. Looking forward to your thoughts on it, especially those Supersprint manifolds.

Fitted the pure turbos and coolers today. Im not a mechanic so happy with that little achievement. Wastegate position is crazy now. Was basically 90% open at 25psi

Not going quite as crazy as the others here just rods, pistons with stock compression and some pure stage 2 hybrids.

I haven't done the math in a while, but my guess is you're going to keep getting the same issues with methanol injection, regardless of plugs, rods, etc. Methanol has a lower adiabatic flame temperature, so it will detonate prior to the fuel igniting. There may be enough energy released to ignite the pump gas after this event. In order to prevent this, you probably need to advance the timing on your engine.

I understand what your saying a out the burn rate of methanol but since this incident months ago i have put though 5psi extra, gone to a 200mph event, gone to the 1/4 strip set a 5.8 60-130 and basically abused the hell out of the car indicating that detonation/ pre ignition is no longer an issue and the cause was running extremely lean on a pull or when i had stock plugs and gaps pushing over 25psi causing me to pre ignite. This has all been quite a learning experience for me as i do not have previous experience in this sort of mods but since getting the meth flowing and plugs changed the car has kicked arse.

That's interesting. Usually an increase in cylinder pressure can lead to further ignition issues, but if you increase the fuel flow rate then you have a different stoichometric ratio which would lead to later detonation. Like I said, it's been a while since I've done the math, so I could be full of BS! Congrats on solving the issue though, and good luck with your car! If you ever have any high level nerd questions, feel free to hit me up!

Looking good! Are liners needed with these pistons if running stock compression?

I will only be using stage 2 pure hyrbids so stock compression without liners will be fine as this setup is used on stock engines

I'm building a forged s63 engine, but have some problems ordering parts from PPM Australia.

Has somebody here ordered parts from them with success without any problems?

I ordered pistons from them and after waiting two weeks after bank transfer still no answer and no pistons.

It seems Pure Performance Motorsport Australia isn't a good source for buying parts for your BMW engine....

For information to all of you that are thinking of buying parts from PPM Australia.

I finally got the tracking number from them. It took them a month without any answer to send the pistons.

I'm waiting now for the package, but I'm not happy with how they treat their clients.
The contact is perfect until you send the money. That's frustrating especially if you choose their pistons just because they have them on stock and you want to get the parts as soon as possible without waiting 2 months for custom fabrication...
