2 weeks in to ownership, my first destroyed front splitter

Thanks to a valet at dinner tonight.

Is it worth it to have this thing?

I'm curious if this is going to go on my CarFax. it currently has a clean CarFax, and if this shows up as an accident then it's going to plummet the car's resale value

Did you report this to insurance? If not no problem. I prefer no lip on my M5. Still stock suspension so I'm not as mindful of bumps as I am on some of my other cars.

I haven't reported it to mine. But they have some sort of insurer who is going to pay for it.

I'd prefer they just cut me a check but I don't know if they'll need it to go to a shop for a repair estimate. I also need to look closely to make sure it didn't mess the bumper up at all.

This car is also lowered. That lip is really, really low. I might go without it for a bit.

that's why i will go rw carbon rk style for my lips. they are good enough quality and fit plus i can kill 3 of them for the price of an rk. good luck, and do not report that to insurance.

The same thing happened to me but at Firestone. Took it in for a quick brake fluid flush (didn't really have to do it but was going to the track the next weekend). The mechanic took and when he brought the car back, drove it right into the curb. After talking with the manager, I sent him the link for a new front lip and he bought it. They were offering to put it on but I was just done with them at this point (install is super easy).

No insurance was involved.

I'd recommend getting the RW carbon front lip to replace it.

Same exact thing happened to me at Les Schwab after getting the car aligned. They covered the new authentic RKP lip and I installed it.

Sucks to roll hard!

the reimbursement cost of an RKP lip will pay for an RW front lip, rear center diffuser, and trunk spoiler

Some mechanics even at Bm just don't care and will never look after the car as much as their own one. That there are extortionate labour service charges mean nothing to ''them'' and I now do my own oil changes as its more convenient for me than leaving the car with them all day just for that.

This is why for certain things I'm not paying 100's of dollars for it to get beat up or broken.
