In my opinion, premium package is a rip off. Dont get premium package but you must get the sport package.

I love the wheels on the sports package and the steering wheel is nice to... the wheels are why I love it however... but... i'm 6'7" 290 and the seats just aren't as comfortable to me.

Only get the sport package if you plan not to add mods to your car.

I personally didn't get the sport package because I'll be adding my own stuff.

You got the green light...now put the pedal to the metal!!! :rocks: Seriously, though, it looks like you made a good selection here. I didn't get the sport package because I was most worried about the ride quality with a stiffer suspension. I was also concerned about the summer tires for winter driving. I would have liked the sports steering wheel and rims, but ride quailty and practicality in the winter was more important. (Seriously, I have read that you can feel every little bump with the sports suspension). My car is without it and the ride feels better than my dad's 02 Deville.

About the premium package...I also didn't go with that. The only option I really found interesting was the compass rear view mirror (nothing else) but the fact that I got navi, I didn't really need a compass anymore. But that's my opinion anyway. Good luck!

Well,

I'm 6'7" 290... and the thigh support is kinda a joke since my thighs don't really touch it, lol... it more get's in my way, although a smaller steering wheel is nice. I don't see myself driving over 120MPH so the speed limiter isn't a concern and I agree ont he summer/winter tire comment that you made. I am going to see if I can run this winter on the stock tires... otherwise, I am going to put on either Blizzack WS-50's which I used formy 02 GT Eclipse for the last few years... or, Dunlop Winter Sport M3's.

Errr yeah, my buddy is a big guy like yourself and he doesn't find the front seats in my car very comfy.

I don't know about others but I am only 5'11" and in my comfortable around-town driving position the extended thigh support doesn't really help me either. At the angle my legs are at they just don't touch the seat there. Maybe cruising 1200 miles up the 5 I'll sit back far enough to make use of them.

Doesn't Rochester get a decent amt of snow in the winter? Unfortunately all-seasons aren't great in any season and won't really help you out in any significant amt of snow. E46 owners had much better results just running summer performance tires in the summer and swap those out for their winter wheel/tire set in the winter. That way you get dedicated tires for warm and cold weather and get the most performance out of the car.... afterall why the best handling sports sedan with crappy all seasons, and trust me, it really is handicapping it in a way.

WHAT?!?!?!

I am deeply saddened. A $2000 deposit on a watch!!! So, what's the final price tag?

Why get the bimmer when you can have 4 watches!!!

Sorry, I am not trying to be negative. Really rich people freak me out sometimes.

How many Sudanese could that watch feed for a year?

SORRY!! I'll shut up...

Congrats, scottjones!!

However, I must say that this thread made me wonder how many negative remarks we would have seen if the title was "My husband gave me the green light!"

I'll shut up too!

I think you will be better off with snow tires. I am planning on getting a set of stock 16s and snow tires for the winter.

tire options

From my experience with both an E46-328 and an E46-330 Ci/M performance model, I suggest that you strongly consider replacing the all-seasons before you drive away from the dealer. My dealer is giving me $800 for the crappy Bridgestone all-seasons which I am replacing with Pirelli Euforia's (225/45x17V)purchased from Tirerack for $175 ea.
For the winter, I will use a dedicated set of Dunlop Winter Sport M3's, then the car will be perform well in snow and slushy conditions.
With decent summer performance tires and good winter tires, your car will perform the way it was designed to be.Don't forget, it's only North America that receives the badly compromised all-season tires, which really should be called no-seasons.

Agreed...only, isn't it true that you don't get the mileage on summer tires the way you would on all seasons? I had a set of 17" Pirelli P7000 on my old car and put about 15K miles on them and already they began to go bald. And I even rotated them.

Anyway, as far as winter, yeah...even the all seasons in winter (being that the E90 is RWD) still won't perform that well. Your best bet is snow tires for winter, but then again, I heard they don't have a very long tread life, either. I guess you can't win

I was thinking about actually getting AC Schnitzer Type IV 18x8.5(Front) and 18x9.5(Rear) for summer wrapped in Pilot's and winter using the 17's that come stock with winter sport m3's... then just sell the all seasons that came with it once I get the other wheels.

I was going to go 19" on the AC's but eh, I don't want that kid modified look by any means.

I know what you mean...but BMW makes 19" rims for the E90. They're expensive to the point of being almost ridiculously expensive, but I guess that's the price of style. Have you checked out the accessories brochure? If you have 19" BMW rims, the car would look simply incredible. By no means would it look modded.
