Audi is really starting to make a fine product these days. But they've got their head up their a$$ from a marketing perspective. They're trying to sell these cars as if they're $250k exotics.

When I bought my last 911, I wanted to cross-shop the R8. But the Audi dealership looked at me like I was crazy when I wanted a car to test drive. Meanwhile, I had 10 or 12 Porsches down the street to select from for a drive. I bought the Porsche.

The S7 is equivalent to the 650GC. BMW will sell me one of those any day of the week. I can get a special order within 6-8 weeks. The RS7 is equivalent to the M6GC. Again, I can test drive and special order the BMW without a problem.

Audi? They act like they're selling Ferraris and we should all feel lucky to get an allocation within the next year. You can't even get their ED discount or loyalty incentive on most S and RS models. I just don't understand what their marketing folks are thinking.

The S6 was amazing.

The CF trim was glossy and appeared great, not like that shitty carbon leather thing.

I'm expecting Stronic gearbox. the S4, S5, RS5, S6, S7, and R8 all have it...

Well you'll be disappointed. The Stronic DCT is not available on RS7. It can't handle the torque. They should have bought a Getrag unit.

Honestly, if Audi had announced that the RS6 was coming to the U.S. and they were going to also offer it in sedan form, I would have likely held off on pulling the trigger on the M5. I really like the lines of the S6 and with the wider fenders on the RS6 it would have been a great visual display (like a an updated and stretched RS4 with bucket loads of torque and power). I am not a big fan of the 7's hatchback-esque styling. So even though I knew the RS7 was coming to the U.S., I only had marginal interest in it because of my mixed feelings about its style. I appreciate its power and know that its 0-60 and 1/4 mile acceleration #'s will likely be off the charts for a sedan (I am thinking 3.2 0-60 mph and a 11.3 1/4 mile ET). But I am not going to regret anything because I value the F10 M5's styling and DCT more than some acceleration data.

The RS6 is def very hot. I just can't do Audi over BMW though - my loyalty to the brand is too strong. Not logical - but that's just how I'm wired. I'm a long term relationship type of guy..

See it in the flesh and it's a whale for sure, and NO boot space either.

Would you really notice 0.2 of a second anyway?............. I doubt it.

99% of drivers would never stretch one anyway.
M5 for me.
