What is this button thing?

What is the little black rubber button thing in this photograph (the one about 5mm across below the main button)? It is not pictured in my manual and pressing it doesn't seem to do anything. It's not clear even whether it is a button - I'm just curious.

PS Sorry for the mediocre photo - I'm no David Bailey.

Thank you. I'd hoped it powered the ejector seat. Never mind.

I wonder why it's not shown in the picture in the manual?

Yes changes where the HVAC blows out of.
