I really am in two mind about it. sometimes I look at the photo-shopped darker wheels and think they look good and other times I like the contrasting diamond cut silver look. the wheels are 'flat' but in fact when clean have the illusion of 3D effect and Convexed like HSX has mentioned. I guess the issue is the spokes are so thin, so if I just got the inner parts powder coated black, the outer silver spokes would look very thin and spindly. but if I went all black, the 20" rims would get lost with the tyres and not stand out at all. I hate the contrasting GTS colour wheels too BTW... do you think Gloss black wheels would go with all the other high gloss black parts the car has will go??

Are your seats CP specific or did they change the seats for 2016 models? |

I will be honest here in my comparison with the F80 M3 and F10 M5. I was going to purchase the M3 as it is a smaller, fitting more my type of dimension for a car, and better handling car. I got to drive the car in 2 instances and I did like it for handling, and acceleration. Nevertheless I only drove it at the limit in a track, and on a tight winding road for 5 minutes hauling as well. But in these conditions I loved it, the car is extremely tight and perfect.
When I drove this car on the real world, and started to pay attention to details, I absolutely hated it. The seats are uncomfortable, the car is much harsher than the M5, here in Brazil it has a lot less features too, and compared to my ex C63 P31 it did not feel any faster, in fact it felt way worse to drive, as the seat was horrible, steering feel was 0 and the suspension did not seem to function as well as the one in my ex C63 believe it or not. Maybe I was unlucky or whatever, but I would never, never, never downgrade from the M5 F10 to M3 F80. I loved my F10 so much I am changing mine 2013 with 20,000km to a 2014 with 2,000km, or a 0km 2015 car. The M5 is a much superior package, and it is slight disadvantage in limit handling gives hand to a much larger advantage in daily comfort. Last edited by CARMASTERRACE; 04-10-2016 at 06:49 AM.. |

Conversely the M4/M3, to me, sounds terrible and relatively tingy as its rev'd up. So both need sound mods.

for what it's worth, I didn't 'downgrade' from an F10 M5 to a F80 M3. I upgraded from the F10 M5 to a 991 turbo S, and bought the new F80 as my daily drive so that I can appreciate the Porsche more when I take it out of the garage. it is sad to have such as good DD car penned in the garage though!

Btw nice garage, I wanted a 991 Turbo S but as these things cost US$430k here, I gave up on buying one. Maybe when some used ones come with a cheap price. For all it is worth I will be keeping my garage at Macan Turbo and M5 for a while. |

im not exactly small and find the M3 seats very comfortable. of course the M5 seats do take some beating though. if you are a big guy I very much doubt you would like the 991 TTS seats too much either... wow, that is some sticker price for a turbo S in Brazil I had the M5 CP and I found that pretty hard over uneven roads and bumps, so for me the M3 is not so harsh and comparable.

F80 looks great in lighter colours
My dealer was suggesting swapping M5 for a San Marino F80 LCI stock car, but non-CP, hence, no deal. Interior material quality definitely improved in LCI. Whoever thought up the seat cutouts clearly does not have young children;lol. I do 3-4hr m-way trips in M5; hard to imagine similar car with better seat comfort than M-multi functions. Have you tried the M3 on long trips? |

My M5 is non CP, actually there are only 2 CP M5s here as they cost an extra US$ 25,000 here over standard, and only come in personalized package, so the delivery takes 4 months. Therefore I am pretty sure my stock non CP M5 is more comfortable than the CP M5. This is maybe why I find the M3 harsh and the M5 soft . The 991 TTS seat is pretty decent, and far better than I expected. I felt comfortable hauling ass in it. It is to me the top sports car, and if I had the money I would be crazy enough to order it. |

Fortunately you don't live in China or Taiwan, because it would definitely be viewed as a downgrade. People here care about "face", so the more expensive the car is, the better, doesn't matter what your needs are.
But throw that aside, personally I much rather have M5 than the M3. If you want a small and agile car, might as well go for a proper two door sports car. |
