AMG GTS:
0-60 in 3.5 second. 1/4 mile : 11.6 second @ 124.2 mph

F-Type R:
0-60 in 3.3 second. 1/4 mile : 11.6 second @ 121.5 mph

And the winner... of course AMG GTS

Only thing the Jag has over the GT is that it sounds better, but I agree with Lieberman, Jag has really made the updated F-Type R look worse. They made changes that weren't necessary. I really like the GT but the only thing that I hate is that BMW has no similar competing car to it. The next M6 will be the closest thing to the GT were gonna get. BMW really needs a true sports car.

Thanks brother, man this just continues to prove the efficiency (or the underrating) of the GTS's engine. The trap speeds are almost 3 mph different and the Jag is supposedly rated higher at the bhp level but I have no doubt the ZF8 has more parasitic loss. You need to go out and drive this thing if you haven't.

Yes you are right. For 2 reasons AMG GTS is faster (quicker):
AMG GTS has better power to weight ratio (due to lighter weight, RWD with less drivetrain loss and for sure underrated engine power/torque)
AMG GTS has DCT which is faster and in case of AMG GTS is located at rear to increase the dynamic character of this car or basically better traction...

Personally I think the AMG sounds better. At least when driving around the city. The AMG exhaust is really deep.

I have to agree owning both cars... the Jag almost is too much as you have stated as well (trying too hard).

Don't get me wrong, I actually think that the AMG is one of the best if not THE best stock Twin Turbo engine exhaust out there. Well maybe with the exception of the 488 GTB, but compared with the raucous growl of the Jag, it has to come in second.

In terms of forced induction, supercharger will always have louder sound compared to a comparable turbo set-up................though yeah, if one is allergic to 'supercharger whine', then it could be bothersome.

In the youtube vid, it was evident.

P.S.
In any case, it would be interesting to go back to this comparo once the SVR version gets launched in the next few months

The MB was about 3 seconds quicker on the road course. The MB gets it done.

More impressive is the GTS lap time. 3+ sec quicker than the Jag.

AMG GTS - 1:27.04
F-Type R (awd) - 1:30.48

Other previous times done by Randy for comparison.

911 Turbo S (991) - 1:27.17
McLaren 570S - 1:27.22
911 GT3 (991) - 1:27.22
