Im a BMW guy, so i would definitely be leaning toward the new m3:
Pros:
-Brand new model
-Better transmission
-Better Engine
-Better differential (if its anything close to the M5)
-Sexy as hell

Id argue the engine part--- the M156 is one of the best engines ever made by AMG or any builder--- 6.2 liters (called a 6.3) normally aspirated with amazing sound. The engine is purely subjective as to whats better. The tranny has no comparo except that the MCT can handle way more tq for mods which alot of peeps do on the black series.

What do you know about the diff in the F80 whats the lockup? The Black Series has one of the best factory lockup ratios at 60% up shifts and oh by the way 50% lock up on down shifts. The car has great grip in the turns going in and coming out due to this. Remember this is a C63 BLACK SERIES not just a C63. I have had electronic diff on the F10 and F13 and its not 100% infallable. I like a true mechanical lockup better but thats me and how I drive my cars on a daily basis.

The new model is obvious but the F80 is not remotely as rare as the BS and it will become the most popular M on the streets in no time. The Black is rare, will remain rare and is out of production.

All this is from my ownership of current M cars and the black series.

In your position I would go with Black Series; not based on experience of either, just my twisted logic

Probably the last opportunity to own car compact car with large unstressed NA engine & a black series chassis. Plenty of time to get an F80, so may as well let the early adopters sort out any potential issues, then go for the competition pack/LCI, etc.

Excellent point !!!!! There will be plenty of time to get the new M3! And I wouldn't even get the first ones , would wait for them to piss off all the first year buyers and buy the one with minor facelift and competition pack

Perfectly said... the 6.3 is a beast.

To the extent the cars electronics factor in at all, the current gen of mb nav etc is an embarrassment.

Money no object, I would chose the C63 BS. It is a rare car and has TONS of character. I love the aggressive looks and exhaust sound. It has received many accolades for its handling prowess. I like the looks of the M3/4 but it just doesn't have the "wow" factor and commanding presence that the C63 BS has in abundance. At least IMHO...based on seeing and hearing the C63 BS in the flesh...and having only seen pictures and video of the new M3/4.

M4 all the way
Looks alone are enough for me
Reliability may be an issue
Had no AMG before only E550 coupe 2010 and was not a nuce experience and purchased it new!! Bad spent at least 2 months at the dealership back and forth. ..
And head similar stories where I work about AMG and he was thankful that he had it certified and he go BMW after it..

Well that solves your problem. For $120k you'd be better off with a C4S!

Its not outdated, it would only be outdated if there was a replacement which there isnt... this is my opinion and it cant be changed LOL

I love how people who havent owned or driven the car think they know what a BS is like. Anyways that 120k is too much but its not realistic either. Why dont you buy Jbizzys white one? And back to the driveability let he or she who has actually had extensive drive time speak up on how great or poor it is. One doesnt buy this car for its amazing 7inch Nav or blasting sound system LOL. The car hugs corners like rails and truly is a race car for the street.

Oh the body is not close, its a wide body front and rear from the facotry and a different hood, front fascia, rear fascia.... get the Black. You will always be able to get a cheap M4

I was very exited about the M4 but kinda lost my interest after seeing those pics from detroit autoshow! I made an offer of trading in my '12 C63 edition one +$50k, and waiting for a response !

Look I get it, the M4 is new and fresh but based on the cars I get its a mass production car and it will be all over the place just like the E92's were. Hell I got one too because it was one of the first cars to have a dual clutch tranny and it was indeed a great car. But the Black is special- just unique and different and not a daily driver. It carries one of the last M156 engines which is practically bulletproof and the car just a blast to drive with its counter steering abilities and throttle/power to get in and out of turns. Have you driven one yet? And as I said you will see tons of M4's in a few months as the production line tosses them out.

The modes:

Drive mode
tranny mode S+
Esp sport (push the esp button but dont hold it down) you will see the yellow sport button- dont hold it down or it will ESP off and that is like driving the car in a rodeo- you will have no nannies to hold you back. The LSD is 60% lock up on up shifts and 50% on the way down so you will confident in the turns yet you will find that you can push the chassis with the throttle beyond original speeds you expected. Have fun.

Be aware you have your full compliment of tq here (with the modes i set above) and push the car hard once the tires are warmed up. Make sure to test out the steering as its hydraulic and not electronic like your E63. Windows down is recommended to hear the full blast of the exhaust LOL.
