Unfortunately, it will be more than a $12,000 or $16,000 upgrade. As he said, they won't push on their stock vehicle. Add clutch or transmission upgrades maybe new axles, I would guess you are over $20,000 once the vehicle is upgraded to handle the power.

Will the Weistec turbos fit on a 2015 X5M?

Sometimes I don’t understand these aftermarket dealers. They all use pretty much same material to build their product, but they charge totally different prices when it come to certain vehicles.

These turbos are designed around the cross bank manifolds that the M5 and M6 have.

We have not yet looked at an X5M to see if it is possible. We have heard of some people installing the cross bank manifolds on the X5M and X6M. If that is something that can be done with out issue, then it is likely quite possible that the W.4 turbos will work when coupled with the cross bank manifolds.

It is possible to over power the stock clutches using stock turbos. To take full advantage of any turbo upgrade for these vehicles, either the midrange torque will have to be limited, or supporting upgrades must be installed.

The only off the shelf components of these turbos are the CHRA's themselves which we source from Garrett.

The rest are designed and manufactured by Weistec and no one else. If it were possible to use complete off the shelf turbochargers, costs would be lower.

To get turbos that bolt on and fit like OEM, custom designed turbine housings and compressor covers are needed.

What I meant is elements of components are the same. Let’s take for example exhaust. Same 304 steel, but different companies charge different prices.

Just FYI, this was a general question regarding aftermarket companies products and prices.

Would be nice to see this - wonder how the DME handles the boost profile as you need external PID control else the boost will be continuously hunting...

The F8* X*M uses the same crossbank manifolds, the earlier E7* X*M's do not. It has been proven though that the S63 engine can use the S63TU headers with some light machining to the S63 turbo to header flange so they'll mate...I don't know if anyone has used S63TU headers AND S63TU turbos on an S63 engine, which means the machining wouldn't be needed.

Not sure about the manifolds but there are differences in the S63TU in X5/6M block. For example oil pickup from the block.

I realize this doesn't directly relate to how these turbos could work on the motor, but there are differences that many people do not know about until they tear the engine down.

Only difference is the oil pickup, which is different machining. Other than that, everything inside the block and up is identical. The oil pan, pump, lower pan, and chain drive for the system are different. I have figured out how to convert a X5M engine to M5 and vice versa, it can be done.

That's good to hear but the pickup inside the block was totally different. Guess with any modification and as long as it fits the stock oil pan all should be well.

This is insane, $11k for two turbos. I thought pure turbos were expensive. With a market shifting to F90, I don’t see a lot of people spending that kind of money on turbos that don’t have proven numbers. Unless, F90 share same turbos as F10, than maybe some will buy it. I also don’t understand why people spent 10k on wheels.

We desperately recommend transmission clutches - The factory transmission cant take much more than 750wtq or so. Otherwise you can make great power on these without a built engine. See below!

This is an all-inclusive kit. With it you get turbos, downpipes, all hardware necessary for installation, instructions on how to install it, plus all couplers and anything necessary to adapt to the factory system. It's not JUST a turbo.

Sorry for the delays here guys! We have been fighting tooth and nail to get verifiable numbers from multiple individuals who have purchased this kit. However, as of right now DME Tuning is proving the potential of this setup on the X6M chassis. The kit isn't a direct fit for the X6M (yet) but this post by DME Tuning with the GTX3076R option should give you a great idea of what is capable:

@x6m_odom DME Tuning World Record F86 X6M putting down 844whp/735wtq with BEF and JB4 and 754whp/658 without the JB4 (straight tune).

Thanks to @kevin_doesnt_lift for the support on this one. Built by @restorationrods featuring @weistec W.4 GTX3076R, BEF, @burger_tuning JB4, Weistec Meth Kit on a STOCK MOTOR and TRANS running a race gas blend. Hats off to Brent @restorationrods for building custom downpipes, turbo inlets and charge pipes and making this install such a success. We are not 100% satisfied with the bottom end power and are going to address increasing it soon! Keep in mind that this dyno was in Boise, Idaho which is 2812 Ft above see level and the dyno numbers are in SAE. Thank you John for believing in our company and allowing us to tune your beautiful X6M.
