Tigerdirect/Circuitcity.com

Anyone ordered things from them before? I bought something from there with Bing Cashback. After I submitted an order it asked for the last four of SSN. I just clicked on refresh and it took me back to the home page. There was a link that I was supposed to click on to claim cash back but afterward I got a confirmation email from CC as well as from Bing saying that I've earned cashback.

The last four of SSN is supposedly for verification purposes (even though I paid through paypal). I didn't enter it but I'm just wondering if they're legit.

Uh, what?

Yeah, TigerDirect and CircuitCity are legit companies, but NewEgg is king.

I was under the impression that Circuit City was a goner.

I was never a huge fan of Tiger Direct, but they do seem to have good deals from time to time. Someone here also mentioned they used to be really really shady.... I pretty much stick to NewEgg and microcenter.

TigerDirect bought the rights to the CircuitCity name. Like they did with CompUSA.

Yeah I mean I know people that buy from there all the time. However, I've never had to verify anything from a site before so I'm cautious. It was a box with my name, address, order number and the last field asked for last 4 of social security #. Supposedly that's standard practice for them but I wanna see if anyone here's done that before.

They did. The stores closed down but Systemax bought the site's name. They also own Tigerdirect. Tiger and Circuit are essentially the same thing with different names.

Yeah that's what I heard too. From what I know they've revamped their shit so they're much better than before. I've never bought anything from there though so I don't know. It was just weird that I had to verify my identify for a freaking order.

Tigerdirect isn't bad but I pretty much stick with Newegg, though.

NewEgg never made me verify stuff like SS and what not ...

Just stick with NewEgg.

Looks like newegg has what I want but is about $70 more. Does anyone know how often their cashback % go up? Right now it's at 2% which is pretty low.
