Smoke when coming to a stop

So has anyone had issues with either PCV system or Turbos causing couple puffs of smoke when coming to a stop after a couple pulls?

See signature for mods. I don't want to jump to conclusions on if its turbo or not. I'm not burning any oil, had a black stone analysis done and no issues shown.

I wonder if oil weight has anything to do with it, yes I know i'm catless but this didn't start happening till i upgraded turbo, tune and ran meth.

Same here - have been having the same occurrence for a while - but only happens periodically and not necessarily after a pull, but always been decelerating to a stop. Hoping its just unburnt fuel? Will be doing a oil analysis next month

thats how two m5 i know started, after pulls and sometimes just driving around oil smell coming from the exhaust, after a while then smoke, end result cylinder 8 on both cars passing oil, remember that the exhaust manifold runs on both banks so it will smoke on both sides even if its just one cylinder.

I have had some friends with the same experience as you.
It would mainly be on cold start and after some hard pulls
The issue was bad turbo seals
If you had contentious oil smoke; then I would be looking at the PCV system.

Is this a critical problem that needs to be fixed ASAP, or is it ok to wait until it gets worse/more constant?

Thx

Any potential issue I would advise to get diagnosed before your issue gets worse. At this point, all we have is speculation

Garage List
Subscribed.

This happened for the first time yesterday. The car is catless and tuned.

Driving normally light traffic, came to a red light and a big cloud of whitish smoke followed me.
I pulled over and the smoke had started to subside and after a couple mins was gone. Continued to my destination and when I restarted the car it was fine.
Nothing on the drive home.

Scared the crap out of me since I just bought this thing. lol
It is still under CPO warranty but I dont have stock cats to throw on to bring it in.

Current mods:
Tune
RK intakes
Catless downpipes
Axle back exhaust

Nice to know. Is this serious & what would cause it?

Well it looks like heat could be a big issue, 2 out of 4 cars were cylinder 8, one cylinder 6 and one on 5 if I'm not mistaken, ether piston cracked or ringland gave up and this case, they are all close friends of mine, I heard it's about 40 hours to change a piston on this cars.

Seriously?

This happened again to me yesterday and its starting to worry me.
Yesterday it was a smaller instance than the other day.

I may reinstall stock intakes, downpipes, and flash it back to stock and take it to the dealer. I still have a warranty through Sept.

Yesterday I did some investigating and pulled my intakes off.
There was a substantial pool of oil in the plastics piece just before the turbo.
It seems that under hard cornering this would easily spill over into the turbo causing smoke.

I cleared it out and will monitor it some more.
