The 458 happening at last

Went for a late ride yesterday and finally found a white 458 next to me at the lights.I'd been hoping for this duel for a long time and craftily snicked it into M2.When the lights tripped we remained together to about 70 before the radar alarm started going off and we both backed off the pedal so guess he had one too. After exchanging thumbs up and waves got to say it was the perfect end to the day

It's a bit off-topic but how useful do you find your radar detector? I've considered buying one but haven't done so far.

I wouldn't leave home without it. A GPS detector protects your Driving Licence by giving early warning of all types of speed traps and fixed speed cameras. It gives audible and screen warnings of laser, radar, specs, fsc's and other traps, has the added bonus of giving you your true speed on the screen. For instance true 30mph on an M5 will read 32mph on the speedo and at 76mph your really at 70mph so keep it just below 80mph true speed on the detector to stay safe on motorway.

I use this and can highly recommend it!
It is extremely accurate and highly configurable, saved my bacon a few times!

Mobile speed cameras and vans are normally used at designated approved locations in the UK this unit will alert you when you are approaching any of these locations.

They usually do but by the time it sees the signal and alerted you they have already caught you, which is what I believe OneExtra means

Some like mine have 'scatter' warning before the signal or laser locks on but to be honest I haven't seen one of these vans for over a year!
How is it around your area for these radar vans and shouldn't there be a warning sign well before approaching them.

Oh the bastards are everywhere! I'm usually lucky as I always see them when I'm driving normally! One morning I saw one on the M27 as you come round the bend on the flyover of junction 2! Bet some people lost their licences that day!

Have got nothing better to do than harass motorists going a little over speed limit..still waiting for the proposed 80 limit on motorways to be brought in by parliament.
You have a detector yourself?

There normally is that's why they are used at approved locations.

+1 on the radar type detectors (non GPS) warning you too late, or going off while sitting at traffic lights, or passing automatic opening doors etc, I tried them.

I accept that they may have improved now but it's whatever works for you and it's "Speed Cheetah" for me.

Was breath tested once ages ago when caught going over speed limit,(38-39 in 30 limit) about this time before Christmas which read negative on the booze dial and because of that was let off the speeding.
