It would be a OBD remap so the car needs about 45 mins to remove map and lock the ECU.

You ideally also need to put a battery charger on the car to stop the battery draining but it may be OK without it.

Either way if its at the dealer the map is not coming off.

Sounds like the tune just made the issue happen a lot sooner.

So you had lean codes before you installed the tune?

Yes I loaded the tune night before took it for a 10 min
Drive car was fine next day installed downpipes
Went inside took a shower came back out took it for a 20 min ride
Thatís when it went boom but yes I had lean codes before all this
I was thinking maybe it was software problems I guess not
So i did reflash car back to stock and relock dme the only thing I left
Was the downpipes as I could not do it on a busy street the only good
Thing is that my tech is my boy I know many years and you really canít
Tell thereís downpipes because the sheld blocks the pipes on top

A tune cannot be the cause of the timing skipping. It looks like a coincidence that you tuned the car the night before. BM3 is not to blame here.

So you've had some feedback from the shop? Sounds like they pulled a head and found all of the valves bent on one/both sides? If the timing was set incorrectly from day one, you would be down on power and it would feel weird in addition to the lean codes, so it seems that wasn't the case based on what you've told us so far.

Lean mixture is bad news especially on turbo cars, you get detonation. Knock sensors, o2 sensors and a good DME can keep you going for a while but you really have to get that sorted out as soon as it appears.

If BM3 tune leaned out the mixture even further than you had just prior, that could have been the trigger. But may have just going to happen anyway given time.

Great to hear! Did they confirm any thoughts on what caused the problem?

Do you know if the timing chain was the cause, that is the chief suspect if it was skipped timing. We read of engine failures but on some the exact causes are sketchy.
