Gave her a clean

Decided to give her a quick clean and a coat of Hydrosilex.

why can't it just stay clean and looking like this always

Please don't judge for the grille but it's going to have to to do until I can shell out for an OEM one.

Looks very nice. I bet the photos do not do it justice. Like the e60 in the back aswell, what motor is in that?

Thank you and you're absolutely right, it looks much better in the flesh .

It's my trusted friend, E60 530D M Sport.
Had her for nearly 9 years but contemplating selling her as I don't drive enough to justify running 2 cars.

Unfortunately they are not worth alot anymore. I had a 535D M Sport and I was shocked at how little it was worth when I came to selling it. Love the e60 though, just didn't want the M5 variant of it.

I got an aftermarket grill from Taiwan, took the gamble as it looked pretty good. It had to have the exact same shape slats as standard and have the m5 logo in the right spot, turned up and I was quite impressed. Not bad for less than £65.

I don't suppose there's a grille M5 badge and holder for it seems a shame to replace the whole kit for something that looks the same.

I did have a look and found one but the M and 5 are joined together making it look really bad.

I have seen some other non-OEM grilles with the M badge for £70 but you get to wait a bit.

No matter what peoples views OEM is always better than replica.

I have seen many times with other people that the quality just isn't there 99% of the time when buying copy parts.

Yes OEM is expensive but it fits perfectly.

Why spend over £35,000 on an M car and stick £65 worth of tat on the front of it...…

Not having a pop at the OP but replica tat lovers everywhere

I agree with you totally buy I really disliked the chrome but at present can't justify forking out for the OEM grille so I settled for a stop gap.

I think I paid £240 direct from BMW for both so when you buy them ask for Alex Lander at BMW Cheltenham who will get you a reduced price.

Yes I know what you mean with them coming mostly from the Far East and being on the slow boat with custom's hold ups.

I went with this one, the only one on Ebay that looked anything like the OEM. The angle of the slats is correct and the position of the m5 badge is correct. I was happy with it and I don't settle with any old junk.
