Recommendation on black kidney grills
Hey guys - I'm looking to replace the chrome kidney grill and upon Google'ing I see few brands but I wanted to see if anyone has a recommendation for a specific brand or seller. Not looking to do a DYI on the chrome and not looking to spend for the OEM price.
I want to get something with double sills (instead of the single sills) like the OEM M5 and where the M5 badge can be used. TIA |

I'd recommend JBSpeed. I bought one from Ebay and one from Amazon and both fitments were bad. I personally got the one with M colors on it but I think the one you are looking for is this one: http://www.jbspeed.com/bmw-dual-slat...ing-worldwide/
Edit: Also I was able to take off the M5 badge from the old one, get some double sided tape and put it on the new grill fairly easy. Here is the IND link if you want to get that one. I personally went with JBSpeed because its pretty much the same thing but a couple hundred dollars cheaper. https://ind-distribution.com/collect...ont-grille-set Last edited by Ickdeep; 05-15-2019 at 01:26 PM.. |

My M5 came with the black kidney grilles from the factory. Even before I took possession of the vehicle I ordered a new OEM set of chrome trim grilles from ECS and it was one of the first things I did when I got the car. I sold the black ones for half price on Ebay. To each their own.

I did some research on it and was deciding between the JBSpeed and the IND stuff. I ultimately went with the IND because it was an OEM product and I wanted the best quality/fitment, but I agonized over the decision for much longer than I should have.

Agree with the above posters, IND and be done with it. Go with the matching side gill sets also. I believe IND allows "package" deals for these, not sure how much if any of a discount there is but they'll match.

I did their set that included front, and rear, gloss black badge, painted from and rear reflectors. PM Ryan at IND and he can quote you out a package.

OEM every time why spend thousands on an M5 and then put replica parts on the front of it to save $150

In fact my stuff showed up today. A day early which is always a pleasant surprise. Already got the front and side grilles in. Very straightforward with IND's DIYs. Everything was wrapped incredibly well. I think I have at least 13 rolls of bubble wrap in my box

sorry bo, but u gonna have to spit out $300 for the OEM pair. you can get replicas for 40 bucks but you can't get the M5 badge in the grill and that's the best part but it is molded into the slats. they sell some badges that screw on but they look like crap..don't do that or just buy the replicas without the m5 emblem for 40 bucks no problem.. but then it's going to be all like hey where is your M5 badge in your grill???..

Thanks for sharing the pic. Mine is Black Sapphire Metallic. For now I've decided to keep the OEM chrome grill as is because with black grill and black car the whole front gets too dark IMO, but who knows down the road I may end up changing
