Trans overheating???
Had my tuned f10 m5 for about 2 months now and every time I try to have some fun I get this code. (Danger of transmission overheating. Reduced response shift program active. Avoid high engine loads.) this was the yellow code and tonight the red one popped up. Is a used car 87k miles and haven’t had any of the trans fluids replaced. Obviously I’m getting her serviced to get that done asap but is there any chance it could be something more serious. Car shifts great no noises or anything. Time for new clutch pads????

A DCT fluid and filter change is definitely in order for you. Especially if never done. The extra friction inside the transmission could be your clutch plates but since it's time for a fluid change, I would go with that first. Good luck.

So I got the trans serviced a few days ago and tonight the same code popped up. thinking about getting ssp trans cooler. Will this solve my issue? Really not trying to turn down the fun.

I did two full track days in a row with mine w/o throwing any trans overheating codes. It seems hard for me to believe one could overheat it on the street w/o something being wrong.
