Salvaged 2015 30 Jahre?

I'm always looking at new projects to pick up with the F10 M5 series, I found 2 iterations listed specifically that cough my interest:

1. 2015 BMW M5 30 Jahre - 20k miles with rear end crash.
https://www.copart.com/lot/64243001/...m5-ca-martinez

2. 2015 Comp. M5 - Rare
https://www.copart.com/lot/62713361/...rd-springfield

Its sad to see these things crashed, however with a little bit of love can be restored to their former glory! Obviously the price has to be right but the market is hot right now.

Some mouthwatering salvage there, won't take long for those to be snapped up.

The jahre would cost at lesst 10k to fix. Probably more like 15k so the sale price would have to be incredibly low to make it worth it.

Not really. I,d do all the work myself.

Brand new quarter panel for 5 series is $1300 from bmw. M5 doesn't have wider dimensions in the back. I'd say between 5k-10k is more reasonable. The matte paint is a pain, with that much repaint you might have to respray entire car cause it would be impossible to color match

I was interested until buying the third party report. Don't go by the copart pics, anyone interested buy the report and make an informed decision. Headrests are popped, driver seat bent, mufflers missing, rear door creased, quarter panel, trunk, bumper, etc. Serious left frame damage once they sent inside trunk pics. Pre-bidding already at $31K. Last one on BAT sold for $48k. Not worth the trouble. It was always have a bad carfax and branded title.

Are the headrest a big deal? Or do they pop back in?

Yeah you're right, you're basically rebuilding the entire back end. The crest on the door isn't good news…the whole end got scrunched

It will definitely be labor intensive

I grabbed this MB CLS instead for my new daily while the M5 hibernate for winter!

Its not the parts alone that will drive the repair cost up. In order to correctly repair it and have all the new parts mount correctly, you will have to use a frame puller and spend serious time reparing the trunk pan. My buddy owns a bidy shop and he did this repair on an f10. Looked like far mire work than just bolting new parts on.
