Sainz got hit by some bad luck and Danny R.

Merc’s clever rear suspension may have heated the rear tires too much today with the high ambient temps.
This is literally like doing a weight cut (what MMA fighters, boxers, wrestlers do to make a lower weight class - they try to loose water weight) but you have to drive a race car at the same time - just insane. Literally you're dizzy, light headed, and if you loose enough water you start to become numb.

Yup, I finished rewatching the post-race show.

Lap 20 left like death for Checo, if something happened he would have lost the car, but his family and the fans kept him going.

Determination and will power made him overcome a heat stroke till he finished the race, what a boss!

Brilliant pics Bubbles and it can be seen how Checo was beat up by a faulty drinks bottle.

Now imagine that, but like every couple races and now you have Kimi.

Those drinks bottles are a hit and miss thing and quite fragile in those confined spaces. I don't know if Checo's bottle was removed to stop him getting soaked like Kimi was then.

Yeah they gotta make it more reliable, these drivers can pass out and get in a serious crash if they're racing on super hot days without hydration.

Also those bottles have to be cooled, either that or just putting ice in the drink, whatever drink it is.

I don't think cooling will work because it is too heavy to have a refrigeration unit to cool the drink, and ice will rapidly melt because bottle is in a thin aluminium package kind of like a kool aid pack and the car gets really really hot due to the pu. I think maybe if the insulate the bottle better with something like aero gel - which is super light, and chill the drink to a slurpee like consistency it could stay cold the entire race.

I heard the drink is a glucose and electrolyte solution, so kind of sweet and salty and unflavored so its not like a gatorade or anything. It probably doesn't help taste when it is hot.

I dont even know how they drink this stuff while having to immediately cornering at like 5G shortly after, I would puke. It's like eating or drinking before a roller coaster.

Yes that makes sense and as far as drinking I've seen flex straws protruding near the mouth in the helmet or resting on the lips even and I would think they'd have a small sip at a time when on a straight.

Yeah I know, but I'm saying I personally can't eat or drink anything before a roller coaster or it comes right back up, I can't imagine doing it while on a roller coaster.

While I don't disagree with Jos being a proud papa, I wouldn't exactly describe any living situation with Jos Verstappen as 'loving'. He's a documented woman abuser, multiple times over.

I understand why you are saying the W12 is faster, and it is a sneaky attempt to gaslight mercedes and give more credit to Max instead of giving credit to the car.
The W12 is imho the faster car in terms of that it has more power.
Usually the W12 sets faster times on sections with straights and sharp corners followed by straights.
The RB16b is imho faster in corners. I don't know if thats only through corner speed or if its also faster under braking. Marko has said that the rb16b is very prone to oversteer, which provided you can control it, is a good thing. He said Max has no problem with that but Checo is often struggeling with that. That's maybe the reason why Max and Checo are sometimes very close and sometimes very far apart.
So the RB16b is I think very strong on the more technical circuits.

But there are always exceptions, in some races one of the cars can apparently suddenly struggle with a softer or harder compound. Or at the start suddenly struggle with traction. Apparently there are lots of things even the engineers can't always predict.

I think especially this year (as the RB16b and W12 are general so close) a lot of races have been won/lost due to strategic errors (or strategic masterpieces). I think strategically Max/RB is way better than HAM/MERC.
I have the feeling Max/RB work better as a team.

He has a temper. Also incidents with his father (they are maybe alike....), and incidents with strangers. Not just women.
I think he is extremely demanding. That's maybe good to raise/train your son as the worlds most talented driver, but not so good in general socializing.
Friends of mine know Max from when he was still a kid (their kid raced in the same class with go karts as Max).
The race was always for 2nd place as Max was gone after the 1st corner, but for instance when racing day was over in a weekend, all the kids started to play soccer with eachother in the evening, but not Max.
He had to train in the simulator all evening.

Brilliant drive by Max and Lewis just couldn't close at the end. Bravo RBR and Max!
Being a pretty new F1 fan, this was the first race that I realized that DRS is enabled for passing backmarkers. That makes zero sense to me. Shouldnt the idea be that they have little to no impact on the front runners? in reality, I know its potentially going to slow them down if they don't get out of the way in time, but it shouldn't give them an advantage.

In any case, a great race to watch!

I agree and the person on pole should have the choice of what side they want and not what stewards decide.

Only got around to watching the race today.
Thought it was pretty good, with plenty of good racing throughout the field, MB & Lewis had no answer to RBR & Max, who I thought drove a faultless race & had managed his slightly older tyres well enough to have something left (with a little help from young Mick) to fend of Hamiltons charge at the end & has extended his lead.

Austin was a must win for Max & he delivered, Lewis's Championship now seems to be slipping away but as we all know, F1 is IF spelt backwards & anything can happen
I wouldn't be disappointed if Lewis doesn't beat Michael's 7 WDC's, only downside would be MpowerBelgium & M5Ricks avalanche of posts crowing about it
