Duncan, Garnett and Pierce were in the middle of their careers, and Leflop lost to them. Only when Leflop created this super team did he beat Garnett, and Pierce. He lost to Dirk. Shaq was on the downside of his career. Mcgrady and Kidd I wouldn’t call a HOF. Good players though. Iverson one of the best Point guards ever to play in the NBA. Google his career stats, and what he did to Jordon. Even went to the finals. However, HOF, not so sure.

They certainly got technicals back then and plenty of fouls, they still had to be careful not to get fouled out. It wasn't the NFL as some people like to describe it.

The game was different back in the day. It was fought mostly in the paint. Guards were mostly assist men to the bigs (Stockton, Payton). Therefore the talent was mostly really big guys who could dominate inside.

Today's game is more of a run, gun, and shoot offense. It's a lot faster with outside shooting, it's a different mentality. Even some of the bigs in today's game can shoot threes with accuracy (Anthony Davis, Lebron etc...). Today's defense you have to cover more ground with guys being a threat on the perimeter, that opens up the game.

If Curry or Harden played back in the day they might struggle inside, but your not going to stop pure shooters no matter how much you pull and grab (yes they called fouls back then, lol). Likewise if Barkley and Ewing played today they would still dominate inside. However I question if they could keep up with today's pace, bigs no longer camp around the paint, they have to move out to the outside shooters.

My point being these are two different eras that are hard to compare, I think it comes down to what style you prefer personally.
Couldn't have said it better and I'm an 83 baby

LeBron did lose to most of this list when they were in their primes.

Duncan swept him, garnett and pierce beat him a couple times, Dirk beat him, and he was lucky he never went up against the shaq/kobe lakers.

Wow. The Cavs and Warriors in the Finals. Who saw that coming? The National Boring Association has nothing on the NHL. The excitement level between the 2 games last night wasn't even close.

Sorry, but there's no comparison between the game of today and during the Bird, Magic, Jordan era. It's completely unwatchable to me. And I've tried to watch the playoffs. I'll take college basketball over the NBA.

College basketball? Home of the 1 and done guys. Kentucky in the final 4 every other year with 4 or 5 freshman. No thanks.

I just hope the finals are somewhat competitive. Unfortunately, this Cleveland team is put together to compete in the east. To win a championship, that’s a different story.

To see what is wrong with the NBA, you only have to look at last night's HOU/GSW game. WAY too much 3 point shooting and I'm talking about the whole league. Half of the total shots these "players" take are behind that stupid line. Idiot Houston 0-27 stretch? A record. haha Wow. I don't blame the players, I blame them partly, but it's the coach to say "WTF are you doing?" When I was growing up in the 80s/90s, if you couldn't play all you would do is shoot 3 pointers. Now everyone does it, even "players" who have NO BUSINESS shooting 3s. It's really unbelievable, annoying and sad. Why would I watch a game full of "players" who don't know how to play? Unless the league cracks down on this BS, or move the line further back, I will not watch or follow or anything, as I'm doing now. It makes me mad because I want to watch. I've been playing basketball since 2nd grade. I played on teams all the way through high school. I'll just stick with baseball.

It's actually not stupid at all, there's a reason they do it and they've backed it up the past 2 seasons (especially this last one) with the numbers. Not every team is capable of doing it, but Morey built this Rockets team with the 3 in mind. I agree that it's honestly not as much fun to watch, but neither is iso basketball. Houston can move the ball too though, and when they do, they're just as good as when they're raining 3's.

See this article for example:
https://nuscimag.com/the-revolution-...rs-2899415361e

Both Morey and D'Antoni are BIG on numbers, and they emphasize it with the players. It may be boring, and it may seem dumb, but it's not....it works. Look at the offensive records Houston broke this season, also the fact that they had the best record in the league, and more than likely would've been in the Finals had Chris Paul not gotten hurt (speculative assumption, I know, but we had beaten them 3 out of the last 4 games).

But just like anything else, there will always be times where it backfires or doesn't work as well as you hope. Unfortunately for us, it happened to be on our biggest game in the last couple decades when we were missing our leader and probably most important player. That's life

Paul's injury was the only reason the Warriors squeaked that out. STFU

I don't know. To me, this is not the right way to play. I was naturally a very good shooter and shot 3s early on, but as I learned the fadeaway, stepback, crossover and finally to drive (hardest thing for me to learn) and basically to create my own shot, I never took a 3 again. Unfortunately for me, all these things came together after I quit the HS JV team. The coach was an a-hole. I tried out for the CSUN team as a walk-on my first semester. That was an interesting experience. Brand new balls that had no grip. lol

Yeah the 3 ball style is definitely not the most entertaining style of play....and as everyone saw this season with the Rockets, you can either live by it or die by it

But if you have the right shooters and team set up for it, it's really effective and nearly impossible to guard. D'Antoni barely even draws up plays, he just lets Harden and Paul go out and do whatever they want based on how things are feeling. With shooters always posted in the corners, and a pick and roll allowing Harden and Paul to go either direction or to one another (plus everyone likes to double up on Harden which will always leave another man free), teams struggle.....hard to know how to guard a team when that team doesn't even know what they're going to do yet

If it gets to 6 games Kerr should be fired. His teams have already under performed in the last three finals.

I would love for them to move the three point line a few feet back and get rid of the corner three all together. The shot has become too easy, there are some 7 footers that have more three's than dunks.

There are much more than dirk. The amount of threes taken by bigs in the last two years compared to years past is insane.

These three just stay behind the arc.
