I use Vines now

Been using a Vines BMW authorised workshop and pleased with the service I received, just back from my nearest branch where an MOT and brake fluid change was done while I waited and of course you get the full complimentary health check on your M also. Brakes are nice and sharp now.

Terrible outfit in my view atleast the sales area, refused to refund my deposit some yrs back after completely misrepresenting a used 435d over the AUC site.

For an MOT and brake fluid change I paid £135 which is not bad with the good service and the waiting area upstairs with tv and drinks. (Redhill)
(also the stamp in the service book of course.

Is this not the standard price? sounds like the same as I paid at our local sytner last time.

If that's about what you paid then yes it is.

My latest visit to them was for an oil change using my own oil and to add a genuine filter with a new sump plug with washer as the old one was getting a bit rounded around the flats, again no drama just good service while I waited at Redhill.
Next time I'll try and get all the things needed done in one trip to save the spaces in the service book

Oh I had a plug change also at the same place on the first trip, so that's three service visits there in the space of 3 months, the car was going into 'don't use full power mode'
The high power section of the original plugs were not working being well overdue for the change, it's a complicated and tricky job if you attempt it yourself and all new little bolts and lock washers are needed for the cross bar holding the DME's,which have to be moved, you can't re use the old bolts.
The two year labour and parts warranty gives you peace of mind.

You don't have to remove the cross bar thing. All you need to remove is airboxes, two nuts that hold the PAS reservoir, which then lifts out the way, and one bolt that holds the charge cooler reservoir and then that moves out the way. There's not even any need to unplug the DME's, just pull them off their ball and socket fittings. I can do a set of plugs in 30 mins. I actually think it almost takes longer to properly gap the plugs than it does to fit them!

I'm glad you have a local dealer you trust though! I don't!

Well done for changing your plugs in record time but I prefer a service stamp for this one. It's a slightly longer drive to my preferred service centre but worth it.

Having better quality NGK plugs and knowing they are perfectly gapped is more important than a stamp to me personally, but each to their own.

I don't know about that,NGK may be chosen by some for tuned M's and adjusted with smaller gap but the BMW boxed Bosch are fine for standard M's with that stamp that impresses a future buyer.
