Hi everybody!
These kits come in 2 versions..
One with cancellation kit and another one without a cancellation kit…
What is the difference please? What does it mean to have a “cancellation kit” installation?
Is it worth living without dynamic adjustments as per OEM configuration?
Or do KW can work as an OEM replacement and receive adjustments via the idrive and dynamic setting buttons?

Going with coilovers you will lose EDC completely thus the need to either code out EDC or buy the cancellation kit.

I chose buying the kit to ease installation.

in your opinion, is it worth doing this?

if you had to compare the BMW adjustable OEM suspension system Vs the KW coil overs?

many thanks again bro

Depends on what you're going after. If it's a cosmetic look, then I don't see a need to go to a full coil over set up. Swap out the springs and keep your EDC settings.

Personally, I went for the performance and went with the V4 full coil overs. After being tuned, my car floated and never felt planted. Night and day as compared to stock. Best mod that you'll feel / see instantly.

F13 M6 on kw v3's here. Love them, will never go back to stock suspension. I don't even miss EDC ever. The handling with this car is night and day with this setup.

Similar to the above, i'd never want to go back and don't miss the EDC. In combination with the Dinan sways it's a transformed car.

to be completely honest I never use the EDC. i will think about the coilovers as the positive experiences are overwhelming and the price affordable

I am considering the KW HAS kit, now thinking about this... Hmm
How easy to adjust once fitted are they and what setting is everyone using?

The only one that is particularly hard is the rear rebound. You have to pull the speakers above the seats out. Compression all around isn't hard, but don't expect to do it frequently, as it's on the bottom of the strut behind the wheel/rotor.
Good news is I've not really felt the need to touch anything but front rebound, but even then just one click. If I'm driving ~4.5 hours up north I might go 1 click softer for extra comfort. If I'm on track* or otherwise driving hard on roads I know are smooth, 1 click harder.

In general I run the settings they recommend in the instructions. KW picked them for a reason and they work really well.

Overall you lose the easier adjustability but gain a much better suspension.

*track driving is only place I'd really bother tweaking more. Haven't done it enough yet to touch more than just front rebound, though.

Hi,
I got my KW V3 kit installed and have driven it for about a month now.
Very happy with the results both in terms of ride quality and handling, i can confirm everything said so far.

However i got a "cling" sound coming from the front most of the times when i turn the steering wheel more than say 0.5 revolution.
I can describe the sound as if the spring is somehow rotating against a fixed surface and builds tension, up to a point where the tension overcomes the friction and the spring releases going back to its natural state generating the "CLING" sound.

I bet this is an install error, however the mechanic is very confident that he did everything right. I've read here that the main thing to be careful is aligning the factory top mount against the KW spring and the car body. The mechanic says he knows very well that and did it properly, but who knows..

Any tips and hints are most welcome!
I am getting the car back to to the mechanic next week and i will require this to be fixed as it is obviously an install error, unless my kit is faulty which is highly doubt..

Are you positive the sound wasn't there before? I say that because there's a known thing* where it will make a sound like that from the front while turning the wheel at low speeds and/or stationary. I first noticed on mine early on when I had the windows down and was navigating a rather tight parking garage. It's caused by slight movement/friction between the rotor hat and the wheel hub. I will say though that it's not loud, so if yours is very noticeable, it might not be this.

Yes, definately was not there before.
I wrote to KW, they also confirmed this is not normal or expected.
They suggested to check the height and whether it is within the suggested limits - it wasnt, my car was too high.
Lowered the front a bit to fit the recommended range.
Still does, it however less often.

They said if it continues to do it, replace the upper mounts. I would have definately done that during the initial install, but now it will mean complete reinstall on the front and alignment done again, so i will see how it goes for a little while.

Installed KV3s at 60K miles. Now at 75K. Best mod to improve the driving experience.

Ok so when does the OEM suspension needs change due to wear? What mileage does BMW recommend replacing the dampers?

Hi all,

I just saw this discounted offer here and remembered this thread. I believe the price is really good for whoever would like to fit the KW3s on their F10
