Ex Ferrari driver Patrick Tambay passes

Tambay has died at just 73 after a long illness, he was the driver who joined Ferrari after Gilles Villeneuve was killed in a qualifying crash at Zolder.

The dude was hired by the Scuderia after his close friend Gilles was killed at Zolder and he won his maiden GP four races later.
The day before that win, Ferrari teammate Didi Pironi was horrifically injured during a wet qualifying crash. Welcome to 80s F1.

Yeah Pironi broke both legs in that crash and of course was killed later in that speedboat crash, very high risk time on and off the track in the 80's.
