Cup holder extender?

Hi guys,
I drink coffee in the car very often as I regularly commute in the city and motorway.
I recently bought a really sleek BMW thermos in M colours - it is quite tall at 8 inches.
However as soon as i moderately stepped on the pedal, the thermos flew out of the cupholder and half my coffee was spilled on my pants and mats..
So i was thinking, either i have to buy a shorter thermos (already have a couple anyway) or i fit a cupholder extender to better shield the taller thermos and keep it in place even when accelerating harder..
Is there anyone that faced a similar issue with their M5 cupholders? How did you solve it?
I know i can always use the shorted thermos/tumblers etc but i fancy the M thermos so much - i got 2 one for me and one for the wife and cannot use them at all

Try velcro in the bottom of the cupholder.

LCI and pre LCI cup holders are a different design. Might want to try pre LCI depending on what you have.

I got one of these for my E60, worked great. I use it in the F10 and had to bend and cram it under the trim piece, but it stays put and holds my 20oz mug just fine.

In the F10, both the pre-LCI and LCI ftont cup holder are about 0.3" deeper on the passanger side (right cup holder) - see depth values below.

While the pre-LCI has a raised edge that extends when you open the cupholder center console lid, the cup depths are about the same as the LCI.

LCI change in cup holder was due to the construction of the rear vents that run from the front cente console, under the center console, to the rear vents. In the LCI, they compressed the vents to drop the cup holders deeper into the console.

To the OP, try the right cup holder to see if it helps, but it looks like the Pre-LCI cup holder is deeper for both....

- Pre-LCI Left Cup Holder Depth: 48.5mm (1.9")
- Pre-LCI Fight Cup Holder Depth: 55.0mm (2.1")

- LCI Left Cup Holder Depth: 43.5mm (1.7")
- LCI Fight Cup Holder Depth: 47.5mm (1.9")

NOTE: Pre-LCI cup holder will fit both Pre-LCI and LCI, but LCI cupholder will only fit an LCI
