havent had that one specifically, but i'm generally a big fan of the age-statement appleton bottlings.

I'm a RUM connoisseur. Haven't had that particular one. In general, it's a solid brand. I can recommend absolutely delicious ones if you're a fan.

Same! I have a rum collection from several different countries from around the world. Rum is definitely my favorite liquor

Here's a couple of my absolute favorites! They are both exquisite.

Cosign on Centenario 20 and Diplimatico. If you ever see Centenario 25, just get the 20yr because its not that much different than the 25 and its cheaper. The 25yr is not worth the extra price IMO. Diplimatico Reserva Exclusiva is just a solid sipper all around.

Correct. I did try the 25 Centenario as well. 20 is just as good but a better value.

Diplomatico was my entrance into Sipping Rums over 15yrs ago.

And you must try the ZAFRA! Absolutely wonderful.

Did you ever wonder why good rum is aged in bourbon casks, good bourbon is aged in rum casks, and both rum and bourbon are aged in wine casks? Just hit me, maybe it's the bourbon and wine...

The flavor profile is just gross to me. It's a little harsh as well.

I brought a bottle (based on recs here) to my nephews house at least a year ago. It's still there, neither of us could drink it.

Simply not in my wheelhouse.

You got the Reserva Exclusiva? I have heard that some of the others in their stable are indeed harsh, but this one is pretty smooth & sweet...at least it is to me. Not far off of the Centenario TBH, just a different flavor profile.

I believe it was. Are their bottles very similar in labeling between vintages, and I got the wrong one??

I even went back after a few months, it *could* have been my palate or something. I ended up filling the glass with diet coke to be able to not throw it down the drain and be accused of sacrilege.
