The Force was too strong...slipped to the Dark Side
I am not worthy Vic and Henry! You two were sooooo right.
After all of my criticism of the Carrera S I finally was "thrown" the keys by a salesman who literally let me just take it out myself as long as I wanted. Well, didn't take long and I was in LOVE! Canceled my M6 Coupe Competition Pkg and now have a seriously worthy stable mate for my F12 M6. Thought having 2 M6 cars might not be as much fun as having the P car there. And I am SURE that I am right! What a fantastic sports car-EVERYTHING is just so driver-centric and the performance feel you get when driving it is intoxicating. It just carves the bends and locks down at speed. "Glorious" to drive is how I would describe the driving experience behind the wheel. You hear people say "I would so lose you in the bends" and I am not sure that it can be understood until you are "straightening them out" with your right foot-lol Honestly, I have never been nearly as excited about a car. This thing is utterly amazing. PERFECTLY balanced. Completely flat around turns and that high-revving normally aspirated motor roaring behind me...Oh man, I am just smitten! THANK YOU Vic and Henry! You two pulled me right on over to the Dark Side and I am feeling right at home here! She will be dropped a little more on Friday. Right here at Tim's (starchild) amazing shop! Gorgeous!!!! I want to go to the dark side too. If the M4/M3 aren't worthy, I will have a 991 GT3 alongside the M5 in 2/3 years Saving my nickels and dimes

Congrats Mike - you might want to be examined for ADD..
She's gorgeous - I love the 991S. One thing - those wheels - ugh - please swap them for some HREs post haste. Enjoy it in good health.

Sweet car! I was scared to drive it because I need a 4 door car for my profession and had I driven a Porsche I probably would have purchased it. I do LOVE my M5. Only have 70 miles on it...

ENJOY that M5! There are MANY things I love about the M cars and many that I LOVE about the P cars. Now I can just choose which flavor I want when I go out into the garage.

Wow! I'm surprised Mike...what with your desire for raw torque.
I seriously applaud your decision though!! Can't wait to get mine in Jan. Congrats!!!

Just when I thought I'd put all that 991 stuff behind me......
I had myself mentally centered back in the M. dismissed the Porche thing as some phase I was going through. A close call with disaster. I even signed up for the two day M school as a sign of commitment. You do this and send me back to square 1.

Drove the hell out of the M5 and M6, and this was the first time I realized how damn heavy our cars are. Drove the 991S from ATL to S. Carolina and the ride was very nice, and M instructor said who drove the damn Porsche it's wicked. All in fun we all love cars, but it's hard to drive my heavy car now which I never thought I would say. Well it's my family Luxo cruiser now(: See ya Sunday at the car show ........are you driving the M6(: |

I know what you are saying. I know yo don't agree after driving both the M5 and M6 today at M school but I do definitely feel a LOT more connected in the M6 than I do in the M5. However, after driving the Porsche, it will feel like a boat. I still LOVE it but I know which one gives me the adrenaline rush! I LOVE that pull of the M car-NOTHING beats it but I MUCH prefer the overall performance and experience of the 911. I remember a year ago when Gary at Butler Tire in Marietta took me for a spin in a Porsche Turbo (and was waiting on his 991 Carrera S to arrive) and he said to me "Mike, once you buy a Porsche you will never buy another BMW". I laughed...but he could be right. Nah-prob. always keep an M car...perfect compliments to each other. If I had to choose one-Porsche hands down. |
