Open Flash

I run a stage one 91 octane OFT on my 2014. It is incredible. I don't map or tweak anything but I am very happy with the performance results.

To my knowledge you can build your own maps yes.

You need a bm3 licence and an ENET cable. Check out pro tuning freaks website. They sell the s63 licence on there. You get 1 off the shelf map for free and any other tunes listed as free with the purchase of a licence, the map pack is a further $150 after that if you want access to their other maps.

You can get an ENET cable from amazon for not much money.

This is exactly like the n54 MHD system for 335i cars, or EVOs, or Subarus or any OBD flash product. The access to stage 1 or stage 2 maps would be similar.

I’m confused as to why the BM3 for 1 basic flash map is $1000?

I’m used to 10 other car brands flashing processes for about half that, just wondering why its 2x?

Its $895 I think. We call it M tax, owning an M car is not cheap although it could be if companies didn't take the piss.

I personally think the bm3 is good value for money. Tunes used to be alot more money for the M5 until more people started tuning them.

Look at the akrapovic exhaust for the M5, its £5900 + £1300 for the tips. I think its absolutely disgusting that you have to pay nearly £6000 for an exhaust that doesn't come with tips. M tax.

A reflash costs $0. The original maps for stage 1 and stage 2 are pretty easy to make.
If I had a OFC I’ll make a stage 1 and stage 2 and stage 3 and stock and whatever people want. I’ve made 100s of maps for other cars and each additional map costs nothing.

BM3 looks cool and easy to use like MHD. Overcharging for a basic reflash is absurd and the community should be upset.

I’ve had 4 M cars with M tax and 4 different 335i cars with JB4 or MHD.

BM3 is easy, not the “best” and over charges their market, fwiw

I’m basically looking for anyone who has used the OFC as a reflasher with logs and what their experience was?

Or other brands, not looking for the basic BM3
