XS-Power Downpipes
Hey guys,
I recently purchased my M6, and was the in the market for downpipes when I came across XS-Power downpipes. The pipes are under $300 a pair and decided to give them a shot. Once they arrive I'll update the thread with pics of the downpipes. http://xs-power.com/bmw-turbo-downpi...mp-pipes-4.htm One thing other than the price that sticks out is the size, XS- Power pipes are 3.15 inches wide compared to most companies 3 inch pipes. I plan having the pipes coated at Jet Hot coatings ( https://www.jet-hot.com) they were recommended by Bimmer Performance Center, who will also be tuning my car. I look forward to sharing a great experience with these downpipes. |

Are you going to heat wrap or ceramic coat them?

Those look great! Waiting to see fitment. If they fit well, Its great to have a company that produces items according to what it is worth . Im all for making a profit, but gouging people because "its an M5" mentality is ridiculous. Downpipes are maybe 80-100 bucks in materials and 100 bucks in labor at bulk rate. No way should these down pipes be 800-1000 bucks retail...thats just pure greed. There is nothing different in performance in any if these pipes that would justify such a mark up...

Unless they're known for great fitment, I would test fit them first before spending the $$ to jetcoat them.

I agree. I was able to score some wrap for free. They are both double wrapped. I used 25 feet of tape on each pipe.. My plan is to have them installed in the next couple of days.

Finally got around to getting them installed. Fitment is ok, they do in deed fit. The one top I can give , align both of the turbo flanges and exhaust clamps Before tightening everything. After everything is aligned, tighten the turbo side first.
The sound is great, the turbo whistle is intoxicating. For the money they're unbeatable. |
