I like them all, but IMHO, no M5 sounds better than this one.

Drone?

Hi. I am relatively new to this board and also a new owner of an F10 M5.

Incredible sounds from all 4 systems on the video.

However, one big concern to me is drone. IMO it can ruin the driving experience.

Anybody have any feedback on whether there is any compromise on this with the 4 systems? I have heard that the Akro has virtually no drone, but it is not in my top 3 in terms of sound.

Also, the issue was raised earlier in this thread about whether these systems impact the BMW active sound pumped through the speakers (Not that I am a fan of it), but nobody had any reply.

No drone in the Akra (full system includes resonators). No drone with the Eisenmann sport (cans only). Thinking the same with the 3D as you keep the stock resonated centers but I'm not 100% sure. Meisterschaft has mild drone - but this is on a full system...not so sure if you just did the cans and kept your stock resonated centers.

No issues at all with the active sound. Active sound is engine sound, not exhaust.

I think you are mistaken about the exhaust pricing. All of the full exhaust systems are within a few hundred dollars of each other, be it Eisenmann, Meisterschaft, or Akrapovic. The $1400 tips are only if you'd like to change to another tip. The exhaust comes with your choice of CF or Ti.

If you are talking cans only, that is a different story altogether.
Akrapovic is a lot more expensive than the rest, it's the only full system in titanium.

Been a long time since I commented here - but back in the day there was a Meisterschaft full exhaust available in Ti, and if you went full cat back with eiesenmann all three were about the same price.

A little something for everybody, be it rears only, full system, valved, or not. IMHO they all sound sick.

Props for the footage Duncan! Oh, and if you are ever here in the South OC area on a Saturday morning, come on over to Cars and Coffee...highly likely that there will be all of these bad-boys lined up for your aural pleasure

The Soul Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust gets rid of the factory mufflers for a clamp on, 3″ straight pipe design with the addition of race resonators to minimize drone. The straight through design of our race resonators encourages maximum power and sound under heavy throttle while cutting down on harsh frequencies that can make their way into the cabin and cause droning on partial throttle and during cruising conditions. This is the ideal solution to pair with aftermarket downpipes to prevent drone and raspiness.
