Exclamation My M5 is being sent from dealership to BMW UK HQ

Right,

after 6 months of going in and out of BMW Service with my M5 (the car spent almost 3 months with BMW) and them admitting that they cannot fix my car (I am cutting this story veeerryyy short to not to bore you all), today I was told that BMW HQ in Farnborough requested for Cooper BMW to deliver my car to BMW HQ.
I haven't been told what is the purpose of this yet, so I was wondering if any of you guys know what could this potentially mean?

BMW taking the car back / refund etc?

Any experience with this?

Thanks

Right, an update. After 9 months of ownership of my M5 I gave up. 9 month of ownership with me actually using the car for maybe 2/3 months. Rest of the time the car spent at BMW.

Cut the story short, BMW FS came back to me offering me (as a good will gesture) full refund on my car and nothing else. Not even a lousy t-shirt to try to compensate me for 9 months of wasting my time. For 9 months I have been driving their courtesy cars, various 5 series models, 7, 3 and X5. Nothing even remotely close to an M car that i purchased. Complete lack of communication not only with me as a customer but also within BMW teams. At some point BMW HQ didnt even know where my car was physically located but at the same time they were trying to convince me they are working on it and trying to diagnose the issue... (as I am typing this email, I do not know where my car currently is).

After 9 months of working on the car they suddenly decided that there is nothing wrong with the car but they are happy to refund initial payment and every single PCP payment since.

After 16 years of driving BMWs, keeping in mind my the experience of past 9 months I decided to say goodbye to BMW.

On one hand I am tempted to drag this through a solicitor; on the other, I just want to take my money and forget about BMW and this awful customer experience. AMG or Quadrifoglio here I come.

Take your money back and look on it as a positive, free motoring no depreciation and that’s ok considering the drop the M5s have taken.

What’s next?

Yeah, I guess you are right.
I have to say, I will miss vented comfort seats - the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in by a country mile.

AMG C/E 63s estate was the obvious choice but I am seriously tempted by Giulia QF - it will be interested to see what deal would Alfa Romeo have on these.

I have had this issue twice

1- I had a e63 m6 that had over £20k worth of warranty work, SMG, Vanos, LCC etc, etc, BMW ended up buying out the car and got me into a replacement, the new car was more expensive, they even worked out the finance so that my monthlies stayed the same and lump sum was as per the older model

2- Had issue with my previous m6GC that had £30k worth or insurance work to rectify vandal damage, long story short, Sytner made a royal cock up on the repair - result BMW GB replaced the car again for a newer higher spec'd model and sorted out the finance at 0% despite that offer no longer being available.

Personally, I found the service excellent, I managed to get hold a senior manager who took the case on personally.

Also had the use of a new M5 and 740ld for 6 months

Sorry to hear this

BMW have treated me badly also with my faulty seat leather

No warranty claim and no goodwill gesture despite buying 4 new cars and 1 AUC M5 in 9 years

I won't buy BMW again on principle not that BMW care

That's exactly right, you read me like a book...

Steering wheel was changed several times, made no difference at all.

Then agree that looks like the necessary solution, what use is that M if it can distract you so much from what it does best.m owners in US have had trouble with that also with some even filling the enclosure of the buzzer, vibrator with felt and still be annoyed with it.With yours the wheel has been changed as you've said then I can only think it's a ecu/software/hidden sensor fault.
Damn sorry it's happened to you, could be better to get one without the lane change option if you want to now .I've had mine 2.5 years and yes without that l/c option and it's been the best car I've ever owned.it's only had oil changes and brake fluid, tyres nothing else.

Mine vibrates over certain roadsurfaces and it's a bit annoying but it's far too good a car to sell it because of that
