SOUL | Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust
DEVELOPMENT: The M5 is quite refined with generous sound deadening and heavy muffling in the exhaust, muting the 4.4L’s intoxicating symphony – but we have a solution. Evaluation of the factory midpipes reveals a very high flowing and relatively smooth flowing design. BMW incorporated a factory break point for upgraded exhausts and the rear section is what holds the exhaust back. The Soul Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust forgoes the factory mufflers for a clamp on, 3″ straight pipe design with the addition of race resonators to minimize drone. The straight through design of our race resonators encourages maximum power and sound under heavy throttle while cutting down on harsh frequencies that can make their way into the cabin and cause droning on partial throttle and during cruising conditions. This is the ideal solution to pair with aftermarket downpipes to prevent drone and raspiness. The Y pipe setup exiting out through quad tips encourages equal exhaust distribution and tip adjustability to allow for either a flush or staggered appearance in the bumper. Turn up the aggression but not the drone with SOUL.
 CONSTRUCTION: Each set of muffler bypass pipes is made from mandrel bent T304L 3″ .065″ wall stainless steel tubing, straight through race resonators with a full metal packing design for maximum durability, and laser cut brackets for perfect fitment. Choose from several hand finished tip options to get the look that suits your M5 best. Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty Clamps are included to securely hold the tips onto the system. + Weighs approximately 14.7 lbs / 6.6 kg less than factory exhaust components (32.5 lbs vs 17.8 lb)  POWER: Our development car reached peak power of 610 whp and 615 ft-lbs of torque during third party dyno testing at R/T Tuning. Mods included catless downpipes, custom tune, and our Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust. BOLT ON AND GO: Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to ensure perfect fitment. Installation requires cutting the original exhaust at a factory break point (marked with a dimple) which allows for reinstallation of the factory system if necessary. Wow this is excellent work. Indeed there is a lot of drone that comes from doing a muffler delete. This solution seems to be the best for attaining maximum sound while also minimizing drone. Tips look great, sound is great too. Excellent videos and what's up with those loud pops on the dyno? They are awesome.
For someone looking for a no drone exhaust that is as straight piped as possible I recommend this Soul Exhaust. Second best would be the Eisenmann Race system, which has a different kind of sound, but still awesome and little to no drone too. The RPi GTM with catless downpipes is literally a straightpiped system that will have maximum sound but unfortunately lots of drone. I think this new Soul Exhaust is an excellent system between the full crazy RPi GTM and the Eisenmann Race.

Thank you so much! We've been in enough M5's with droning muffler deletes to know there had to be a better solution than simply straight pipes - especially for cars with downpipes. We experimented with several resonators before deciding on the race resonators we are using now to make sure we cut out as much drone as possible.
The loud pops on the dyno are from a Eurocharged Performance tune! -Mike S |
