When I tried to do a amp draw test this morning and didn't have much luck, I disconnected the IBS. That was three hours ago and I haven't had any voltage drain. I am going to leave the car alone for twenty four hours and see what happens.

Well I;ve just been out to the car and all looks good bar the door handle. I didn't leave the car on charge last night and on checking what voltage I had in the battery this morning I found that there was over 12.80v and that was after waking the car up. She started fine so the next task is reconnect the cable to the IBS and see if the battery drain comes back.

Just a thought, could disconnecting the IBS be disabling other systems? Something to think about. If you haven't already, go directly to the problem handle and disconnect it, try again with your IBS connected.

So with the handle disconnected you were still getting a parasitic draw?

Yes I was still getting a draw on power. I have now reconnected the IBS and will check what voltage I've got in the morning. I have in the past had some strange electrical glitches IE door handle light not coming on when unlocking the car, no interior lights and this was before the comfort access started messing around. Also battery drainage warning but the car always started.

Checked the battery voltage this morning and it had dropped to just over 11 volts. So I'm thinking I need to replace the IBS. My BMW service center has got one in stock.

I have replaced the IBS and haven't had any high battery discharge warnings so far . I've left the battery off charge four days, and she still started no problems. Had a call from my service agent today to say my door handle is now in stock. The car is booked in early August and i have asked them to do a thorough check through the electric's. I have also just found out that there is a glitch in a recent update to the advanced eye dash cam which can make the dash cam do constant recordings. Which would be a drain on the battery. There is a fix for this but you have to download a file to your laptop then transfer it to the micro sd card in the camera. But before you do the transfer you need to check for and delete the affected file on the sd card. I'm having trouble downloading to my laptop' I've got the file downloaded on my iphone but can't transfer to my laptop.

Hopefully this is the last update

The car went into my BMW service agent this morning and had the new door handle fitted. They also checked out the dash cam which was working fine. They did replace the battery, which with the door handle was covered under extended warranty. So it's fingers crossed no more hassle.

Hope this ends it. I’ve had no more issues since the new handle, touch wood.

Good to hear that the warranty sorted it too. Do you mind if I ask if you paid an excess, of so was it an excess for each item?

Hi ianm5 Yes I paid and excess but only one. They deemed the battery failed because of the door handle, so it was covered under the same claim.
