Question Check Engine Light Help

Hello , I have a 2013 m5 and my check engine light just came on I checked the code and the code is P12E1 now I did some research and can’t find anything on it any suggestions or anybody know what this problem could be.

Give us more to work with. 1) what else did it say besides the code number? 2) any symptoms with the car? 3) if no symptoms, did you clear it and see if it comes back?

it didn't say anything about the code besides it being a bmw specific code and i cant find anything on it, symptoms during idle i get a little shake/jerk i want to say not sure if its normal or not very hard to tell but besides that no other symptoms that i know of and i have not tried to clear it i thought maybe to let it stay on and see if it clears its self should i try clearing and go on with that ?

You can get a CEL from fuel cap not on right or the vent tube there blocked.

Did you change or add oil recently and forget to put the cap back on? Happened to a "friend" 😳

No, i changed oil 2k miles ago and the cap was put on !

Fuel cap is on right and the vent tube what tube are you talking about exactly where is it located ?
