Bluetooth connected no sound

I've been having this issue for a long time and surprisingly it transferred over from my previous 550i to my 2015 m5

Long story short every single time I turn on the car and my phones connects, there is no volume and I have to disconnect and reconnect then it starts working every single time

Also, 90% of the time the media screen just says unknown artist

I'm using Spotify on an iPhone 13

Anyone else have this issue? It's pretty damn annoying I just never got around to fixing it

This is a long time and well known complaint with the software on 2014-2016 F-Series models. I want to say it was corrected in 2017 and later models. PITA issue for a car costing more than $100K.

There hasn't been a fix other than swapping out for a newer unit/screen that has Google Play.

I have the 4x4 carplay unit but even that the audio doesn't work I have to switch my audio to the Bluetooth audio

I have the same problem with my m5 2013. It's really crazy for a car to this price.
