Current discounts?

Looking for a new 2016 off of the lot. Plenty to choose from and I have found my desired color combo. Sticker is $118,500 or so.

What kind of discounts are out there right now?

Right now you can pick one up for at dealer invoice or a bit under.
Contact Greg Poland at Pacific BMW and see what he can do.

I've noticed (a) Cali has a TON of inventory and (b) pricing is much better right out of the gate than rest of the country.

Cali has a much higher than the already high lease cap rate (M5: 91% CA, 74% National) because of the high use tax and no trade difference break. Towards the end of production, allocations are shifted west and heavier back back door incentives are offered.

Back at the end of the E60 production, I was able to get a very well equipped 6MT M5 for $616mo incl tax with just drive offs from BMW of Palm Springs. Deals that good don't exist anymore, but Cali has a significantly larger inventory around this time.

On between the coasts, dealers in smaller 2nd and 3rs tier markets will be keen to make a deal as well.

Enough to qualify just about anyone, and keeps the economy moving. The dealerships aren't nicknamed Car Cartels for fun. Take a peek at Braman Miami ads

BMW Santa Barbara has a new 2015 they can't seem to move. Comp pack, Executive, Driver Assistance Plus, and MPerf steering wheel. Originally stickered at $117k, now $99.9k before you walk in the door.

Wonder if something happened to it during delivery or if they just want to dump it.

It's a 2015 so the (start of negotiation) price is about right. Keep in mind that leasing it takes a big hit on residual (57% vs 64% for 36/10 lease using current month numbers). Likewise, if you buy it's likely an 80-85k car before you leave the lot. I think a sale price in low 90s would be a good deal on it, provided there are no issues with the car.

And that's where it's an issue. The few dealerships that have remaining, unpunched 2015's and CPO 2015's have the prices significantly inflated. Those not straddled with leftover new 2015's, have CPO cars with very low mileage and close to if not as well equipped with asking prices quite a bit lower. It can't compete on a lease without a heavy loss. They'd probably risk holding out in the chance an impulse buyer walks in or they can up-sell another customer.

I called on that one over a week ago. It sat on their lot for over 300 days and all of a sudden 3 people (I was the third) called about it at once. They told me a guy was doing the paperwork as I was on the phone and it would most likely be gone. I wonder if they just haven't updated their website inventory.

The have a hard time moving some things. I've seen cars sit for months at steep discounts. I finally had to jump at an M3 that was marked down so far I couldn't pass it up. And then the dealer went even below that.

Great guys, nice dealership. I think they sell most of their cars as pre-orders.

For future reference, you guys should know that BMW of Santa Barbara is a great store and is the store that bimmerfest founder and owner Jon Shafer works at. If any of you ever want a BMW from Santa Barbara, contact Jon Shafer. His reputation is excellent and he is a bimmerfest dealer sponsor like Greg Poland.

Hey I was going over everyone's Post and I normally used for my past 9 BMWs a Car Leasing Company (which always beat any dealership price by 12-15% of any final bargaining Monthly payment) until recently I Leased on March 1,2016 a fully loaded Black on Black M5 with Black Rims , the cars MSRP was $114,300 . I was able to get a 24 Month Lease with only first month , bank fee, and plates for $980.00 a month ! Deal of a lifetime and I just got my mother a 535xi M package loaded for $390 a month 0 down and for my wife a 550xi M package 80k car for $530 a month . There are 5 series certificates that reduce monthly payments drastically ! Ask the dealer about ot

I inquired about this particular car in December 2015. Spoke to Jon Shafer who is a sponsor for Bimmerfest. He is an internet sales rep at the dealership. He didnt seem very much interested since it was a outta state lease. He basically said that was the price as listed. I ended up getting one from another firum member here. Lol

It's weird...they really seem to have little desire to move cars. I think they do so many custom purchases on higher end cars they just don't care. Or maybe they're just bad salesmen!
