21' wheel & tyre question... again;-) 295 vs 305

Hi all,

Got a set of BBS RX2 in 21
front et23, 9j
rear et28, 10.5j

At the same time as sorting out the wheels, I will install KW HAS, so I am trying to avoid any issues before spending money on mps4s.
I know there is millions of threads around tyre/wheel combo but I don't seem to be able to find a definitive answer for me.

I am thinking of going 265 30 front and 305 25 at the back but I can see straight away that front will have to get around 7-10mm spacer because of the brake caliper.
I don't expect the rear to be a big problem in terms of caliper clearance but maybe someone could let me know if I would be better of running 295 or 305 with this rim setup and KW HAS on as well.
"Will they fit" says using 305 will up a little tyre height (6mm) which is great because I worry a little about potholes and the condition of UK roads all together.

Don't want to play with camber or see any rubbing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Cannot comment on the 21" wheel set up but am running the KW HAS kit with 305 MP4s on the rear with 10mm spacers as well and there is/was some moderate rub on the wheel liner carpet. Had my performance shop shave a bit and now it sits tucked with no rub on dips/pot holes. One thing I have to be careful about now is front splitter on dips.

I ran 21" wheels on 265/305 Vreds on my 2015 M5 with no issues; this was on KW HAS as well. The KW will allow to adjust should you any rubbing but I don't anticipate any issues.

Here are pics of that setup:

Incredible wheels and perfect stance
Could you reveal the manufacturer and specs of these wheels?
Furthermore, do you have reference values of the HAS settings?
Thanks a lot!

Best regards
Steve

The wheels are Velos.

IIRC they were 21 x 9.5 and 21 x 11. Wheels were bespoke so fitment was perfect. Unsure of offsets as they were not revealed.

I don't recall the KW settings tbh as I moved on to a 19 M5 Comp almost a year ago.

Thanks for the information, similar to my former Vorsteiner wheels. The specs won’t be shared, they are made to fit the car perfectly
Got it, will do adjustments as we go!

Wow nice, how do you like it compared to the F10 M5?

F90 is a monster and AWD is a game changer IMO; I owned two F10 M5's and really enjoyed them but getting power to the ground was always a challenge. From a dig the F90 is bananas ... LC works well.

I liked DCT on the F10 M5 but the ZF8 on the F90 is also very good and a must to handle AWD.

Here are some pix of the F90 .. on 21" Velos wheels.

Absolutely gorgeous M5, makes me want one pretty bad...especially considering the harsh road conditions here in Germany for a good part of the year.
Traction problems are always present, luxury issue

Enjoy her in good health, she’s on my shopping list...gotta have dreams!
