Key is to not drop it *all the way* down. Whether programmed or not, I'm sure full WOT from a stop will cause a burnout.

I dropped my rears 2psi cold. Can't say for sure if it made a difference, but logically it would make sense.

When I had the PSS that came on my car I'd actually slip at peak power RPMs when WOT in second. Again, I think most of that was them not being fresh, but PS4S are definitely an improvement.

I usually run 36-38 PSI. Good balance of feel, comfort and grip

Being I'm not tuned, I'd guess I was punching it to ~75-80% in 1st and then going full WOT as soon as it shifted to 2nd.
This. It's what I do in first then into second it catapults off.

325s? What offset are you running?

Tire brand and model can be very different in width at same spec.

I ran 295 MS Supersport rear on 10,5 et19 M6 wheels, occasional rubbing in soft suspension setting and hard acceleration.
Then I put 295 MS Alpine 4 winter tires on the same wheels and they poked 1/8" outside the wheel arc and rubbed like crazy.
Had to buy a set of stock wheels to put those tires on.

Took the M6 wheels and machined off 3mm making the offset 22mm, no more rubbing since that.

Just out of interest are the times in this thread based on passenger and full tank? I always run with about a 1/4 tank and no junk in the trunk. It seems pointless to me to carry an extra 60+kg of fuel unless I’m on a long trip.

I find the M5 does it’s finest work 40-140. You’d need to be deeply committed to out accelerate the F10 in that zone.

I’m sneakily interested in the engine mods, many years ago I had a lotus esprit that you could manipulate in real time via a laptop in the passenger seat with some internet software. You could literally slide the bar to increase boost. It was held together with tie wraps and tape. The F10 is a bit of a ‘tiger woods’ or a ‘Schumacher’, it’s so good at everything it’s almost lacking a personality or anything to empathise with. When it’s gone I’ll cry and say ‘but it was so good?’

I find it does help having around 3/4 tank to give some weight to the back to cut down on chirping at take off.

I'm guessing I had 2/3-3/4 tank of gas (no passenger). Wasn't on purpose, though I would imagine it does better from a dig with more gas in the tank than less.

Thought I'd get this fun thread back as we spend much more time taking off from the lights than the proverbial 60-80.
I did some 0-60 runs on a deserted road on a warm day, my stop watch was getting just above four seconds for the dash, in auto with 305's ps4s of course.

SO are you guys launching with traction fully off or traction off with MDM on? I have a Draggy and still have not used it to its fullest and have no 0-60 times to report. I've made highway pulls with all traction off and it still gets sideways in third gear. Running stock tires but brand new with a few thousand miles on them. I came from American muscle and this car is so different to launch lol. Kinda scary...

Traction was full off for me. Sport plus throttle with D3 on the trans. As mentioned above, I had the best luck just punching the throttle to something short of WOT and then going WOT as soon as it hit 2nd.

^ You did well there, a sub 4 seconds is what Road and Track could manage in that road test they did.

* Guys careful with traction off doing this, you've seen the vids with cars skewing sideways,I use traction on all the time with the occasional MDM on thrill.

Straight roads in the middle of nowhere is key. Move a bit across center line to get more buffer on the shoulder. I didn't have any problems with going sideways but it's definitely something to pay attention to in 1st.
