repair damaged carbon fiber clear coat?

i purchased a used mperformance spoiler from a forum member recently. he did not disclose any damage and, to my dismay, the piece arrived as shown in the pics: 3" scratch and slight crack in the clear coat. no damage to carbon fiber.

while it's under the spoiler, and not particularly visible, my ocd will know it's there and will ruin my enjoyment.

i've read/watched videos that lead me to believe wet sanding, epoxy resin and polishing will fix it. i certainly would prefer not to go to that length if it can be avoided.

anyone with experience or ideas?
i'm looking at my tube of polywatch wondering "if it's good enough for my speed master, maybe will work on the spoiler?"

thanks in advance,
slightly pissed and should have bought new

Try wet sanding and see if it comes off. If not, you need to make a call if you can live with it. There may be takers who will want to paint over it - at least cut your losses.

If you’re like me, and you won’t be able to see anything but that flaw on your car - cut your losses and get a new one. Any/all repairs will be costly and imperfect.

appreciate the input, guys.

i spent some time working on it and got it to a point where both scratches are far less visible up close and not at all from a few feet away.

that said, i bought a fresh one and will be reselling the updated one at a steep discount.
